It's a coat closet flanked by two built-in console tables. Your DH and you can drop off your wallets, keys etc. on these little vanity tables, kick your shoes off under them, and then put them back on while sitting on the little stools.

I object to photos where art is placed where the TV obviously goes irl. I love to see a room where the TV works though or is hidden. In this case I think they just took it out for the photo.
