Breaking news: Montgomery Co revises mask order, crushing the hopes of the mask police

Grown adults discussing not wearing masks, little tiny pieces of cloth that are non invasive, that just might save one life.

Trumpers, selfish idiots who made this all possible. Pandemic is on you. Thanks so much...

If it's non-invasive, please wear one while sleeping. We won't have to hear from you again.

This "argument" (I hesitate to even call it one) is moronic. You are making PPs point about being a selfish idiot...

I hope you’re wearing a mask at home to, right?

Right?

Read literally the order requires you to wear a mask when not eating or drinking. This is why someone literate should be writing policy. Even misplaced commas can take years to fix and cause no end of trouble.

Unless able to maintain 6 feet or more.

Read 2c. There is no exception of indication of when that rule should be applied.

One purpose of language is communication. Montgomery County missed the boat.

Unless they release a correction, it's fair to exercise your own discretion in interpreting 2b and 2c. Personally, I opt for 2b.

I really wanted to use my pepper spray on maskless people! MoCo East Coast Bleeding Heart Liberal Elite Progressives have dashed my hopes to ground!!

I wonder how many of the Covid Karens are going to be pulling out tape measures to scream and yell about “six feet, six feet!” as they prowl the streets, ready pounce on anyone they deem to be breaking their interpretation of an incredibly poorly written mandate.... I bet they made excellent hall monitors back in grade school.

Zero. This doesn't happen. No matter how desperate you are to feel like you're being oppressed.

I wish this happened in MoCo too, but it doesn't. Have never seen or heard a Covid Karen. I get made fun of for putting a mask on and keeping my distance.

I see people all over Olney walking on busy paths with not a mask in sight.

If it causes you such anxiety, say something.

Can someone think of a contact that is more fleeting than running past someone? Is being shot out of a cannon the only scenario where masks aren't required?

Isn't that what was already in place?

OP here. Should have said Montgomery CLARIFIES order. Most of DCUM was dancing in the streets (alone with their masks on) yesterday.

Now there will be disagreement over how long a fleeting time is.

This is only difficult for idiots to understand.

A pass on the sidewalk/path/trail? It doesn't get more fleeting than that.

Nobody is getting covid briefly passing a person from less than 6ft. Absolutely no one.

Wow, pretty definitive. You must be a high-ranking immunologist or virologist, for sure! To know with such certainty! You rock, wise PP!

Oh, sorry, actually you're one of those joggers who thinks nothing of jogging past me "briefly" and absolutely less than six feet away, while you huff and puff and pant. So adorable. I feel so safe!

Two questions for you:

Can you provide ONE single confirmed cases of someone getting covid in such a brief outside pass?

And two, have you thought about taking medication for your irrational and deteriorating mental health issues?

NP You sound like the one who needs medication. Honestly, I can't imagine spending so much time debating whether or not it's necessary to wear a mask, when wearing a mask is so simple. It's basically effortless. Way easier than fighting about not wearing one IMO.

DP. Yeah, if my life ever gets so pathetic that I become this incredibly excited about upsetting imaginary people by triumphantly ripping my mask off on an isolated trail, I would take that as a sign I need significant mental help.

+1,000. They love to call others names and malign their perceived "mental health issues" (LOL), but they are like overgrown 4-year-olds. NAH NAH YOU CAN'T MAKE MEEE! LOOK AT MEEEE!!!!

Refill your glass, Amy.

Common sense has prevailed, and you’ll just have to wait for some other excuse to attack random strangers.

Maybe walk around your neighborhood today and make note of any HOA violations instead. That’ll make you feel better.

Everyone should just stop engaging with this poster. It's one awkward insult after another. Not worth engaging. Ignore.

You might has this backward.

Nope. They had it right the first time.

Like walking on crowded sidewalk - maybe passing is fleeting, but walking behind someone who isn't wearing their mask may be risky. And what about waiting at the light where people are standing still. Do those count as fleeting?

Right. If those things scare you, stay home.

Why should I stay home so that you can stroll Bethesda Avenue without a mask?

Who knew there were so many covidiots in MoCo - I guess that explains our high infection rates. Even hospitals are getting closer to capacity now. But yes, you should still have a right not to wear a mask in public.

The counterargument to this is obvious.

Not really. You are required to wear clothes outside. You are required to have a drivers license to drive a car. What shouldn't you be required to wear a mask in public during a pandemic for everyone's safety?

Remember we are returning to normal society now - your Trumpy behavior is no longer okay.

If you are that worried stay in your home where you can live by your own expectations.

Ummm, it's against the law to walk naked or drive unlicensed down Bethesda Avenue; the same cannot be said for wearing a mask.

"Trumpy" behavior... Making nonpartisan issues partisan is also very passé, but clearly you missed that memo.

Nevertheless, I'll be sure to smile at you as I walk down Bethesda Avenue maskless.

Because running without a mask while keeping your distance does not have anything to do with safety.
