Isn't that what was already in place?

OP here. Should have said Montgomery CLARIFIES order. Most of DCUM was dancing in the streets (alone with their masks on) yesterday.

Now there will be disagreement over how long a fleeting time is.

This is only difficult for idiots to understand.

A pass on the sidewalk/path/trail? It doesn't get more fleeting than that.

Nobody is getting covid briefly passing a person from less than 6ft. Absolutely no one.

Wow, pretty definitive. You must be a high-ranking immunologist or virologist, for sure! To know with such certainty! You rock, wise PP!

Oh, sorry, actually you're one of those joggers who thinks nothing of jogging past me "briefly" and absolutely less than six feet away, while you huff and puff and pant. So adorable. I feel so safe!

Two questions for you:

Can you provide ONE single confirmed cases of someone getting covid in such a brief outside pass?

And two, have you thought about taking medication for your irrational and deteriorating mental health issues?

NP You sound like the one who needs medication. Honestly, I can't imagine spending so much time debating whether or not it's necessary to wear a mask, when wearing a mask is so simple. It's basically effortless. Way easier than fighting about not wearing one IMO.

DP. Yeah, if my life ever gets so pathetic that I become this incredibly excited about upsetting imaginary people by triumphantly ripping my mask off on an isolated trail, I would take that as a sign I need significant mental help.

Isn’t this what it said yesterday?

Yes.

People apparently can't read.

I love these threads.

Grown adults discussing not wearing masks, little tiny pieces of cloth that are non invasive, that just might save one life.

Trumpers, selfish idiots who made this all possible. Pandemic is on you. Thanks so much...

Apparently some people found the wording confusing, so they clarified. But it's the same rule. Outdoors if you can't distance/are in proximity to others.

Refill your glass, Amy.

Common sense has prevailed, and you’ll just have to wait for some other excuse to attack random strangers.

Maybe walk around your neighborhood today and make note of any HOA violations instead. That’ll make you feel better.

Everyone should just stop engaging with this poster. It's one awkward insult after another. Not worth engaging. Ignore.

It wasn't clarified. The _directive_ was always written that way.

The _press release_ was poorly written to indicate masks required a tall time. The directive is what counts.

Basically MoCo gov't messed up in their press release. The usual incompetence.

I mostly agree with you, but I wouldn't say "absolutely no one." I passed a guy on the street yesterday who was seriously hacking up a lung. You better believe that I did not do even a "fleeting" pass within six feet of him. If you are passing someone, and they sneeze right in your face, I don't like your chances. I always at least turn my face.

I have to admit I’m very surprised to see that the media is clarifying the mask issue.

Sigh, so you are one of those walkers huffing and puffing down the street (because you need some exercise), in the middle of the sidewalk, forcing runners and everyone else onto the street or grass. You all should stay home, or on side streets with less traffic till you learn to share the sidewalk and not breathe like you are lifting weights.

Sounds like you need to exercise more, both for your mental and physical health.

Nah, I run 40 miles a week. I am good. I am just sick of these whiners who complain about runners but proudly saunter down the middle a sidewalk leaving no space for others and they think they are fine doing so because they have a mask. I pass several of these ill-mannered idiots every run (during which I wear a mask). And in general, I encounter far more runners with masks than walkers. The insults toward runners are getting old.

I guess they are angry that you are using so much air but aren't paying an additional air tax.

Clarification released today: https://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail.aspx?Item_ID=28174" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> https://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail.aspx?Item_ID=28174

Whether you are out walking or jogging, wearing a mask when you are likely to be within six feet of someone, even if it is solely in passing, is required.

I don't know how this could be more clear - it's *required*, not just "suggested" or "recommended" that walkers and joggers wear a mask even if they are within 6 feet of others for only brief moments when passing.

Unfortunately, DCUM tells me that many runners, breathing heavily, will continue to think it's okay to not have a mask on sharing a path or sidewalk with others.

I think Gayles needs to look up the definition of "fleeting."

A press release isn't a legal order.

The amended order says:

b. Persons leaving their residences shall wear a face covering when they are likely to come into contact with another person, such as being within six feet of another person for more than a fleeting time

So some guy named Barry has more authority than Gayle?
