OP here. I’m far from privileged. I grew up very poor in a neighborhood where I was the only white family. My siblings and I were builder often because of it. My brother was beat up on a daily basis by a group of kids because we didn’t belong there. Racism exists but that doesn’t mean every single POC is targeted by racial attacks.

NO here. I'm going to tell you what you told me. Many of ,y fa,ily member are white. They were never bullied at school. I think you need some emotional support and therapy. Hopefully they have that in Texas or Colorado.

OP here. I’m sorry if you’re offended. That’s not my intentions. Your post mad it seems as if every POC from ages 3-18 will experience racial bias, hate, and micro aggressions. I know it happens but not to every POC. There are many POC raised in the suburbs who do not get bullied because of their race. You thinking everyone does and that every white perish is out to get POC is why I said you need therapy. My Hispanic and biracial family will tell you they are not victims and do not receive that hate. Maybe this is why my black family says there is nothing more concerning to them and racist than a white liberal. They are foxes.

You said what you said. Don't try and back track Now. Your comments in this thread have been highly suspicious. I do not believe you are actually looking for advice about moving, or moving in regards to your relationship. I believe you are a race baiting troll, and you have been reported as such.

I think I recognize this OP, dr husband, she's a CRNA or nurse and always manages to make threads not really seeking advice but to stir up arguments, humblebrag, and is super aggressive

I'm not saying you are right, but the style is very similar as is the fixation on moving to Texas.

OP here. That’s not me. I’m not a nurse or anything like that. I’m in medical sales. I don’t see any thread fixating in moving to Texas.

I’m also not political. I don’t consider myself to be with any party.

Also think carefully about whether you want to move or an area where only one of you already has friends. Moving during Covid could make building new social networks hard. You’d be dependent upon his network. Do you like them?

Another thought - what do you mean by good schools? In teacher networks Texas is not known for being a good place to work. I believe science textbooks in Texas have to finesse facts to satisfy evangelicals. Do you want to live where climate change is seen as dubious?

The only part of your post that makes me think Texas May be a good fit for you was the “no politics” bit. The idea that you can consider moving anywhere and not consider politics is laughable. Probably an idea shared by other privileged Texans.

OP here. I’m good friends with them too. They moved after the husbands residency for a job there.

The schools are considered some of the best.

I know politics will be everywhere. I meant not to turn into a political debate on here because it’s seems almost every thread on here gets turned to politics.

That doesn't explain your racism though.
And if you wanted advice about relocating there are forums for that. But you posted here an behaved like an asshat.

You know just because OP said not every person of color experiences racism doesn’t make her racist. You guys have thrown that word around so much that the actual meaning is lost. You shout racism at everyone who doesn’t agree with you. Bye Fox.

+1. Malcom X was right. That person is a fox. Foxes love telling POC how oppressed they are. They love telling them how they are a victim.

Got the profession wrong but it is you. You post annoying threads where you don't really want advice and stir the pot delightfully.

Racist trolls love quoating Malcolm X and taking his comments out of contect.

Anyway I'm the pp you're all arguing with. I am a black person I answered her question, and a side conversation based on my experience about how a yard isn't always better. OP decided to answer with an extremely rude and assholish response.

I think you are right too, but Jeff lets her post, so probably the best thing to do is just ignore her and her friends ( assuming she's not sock puppeting)

OP here. It’s not me but I will be having this thread deleted. I will ask for advice on another site. I specifically asked for no politics but one poster had to bring up race and how any POC will be treated unfairly in the suburbs.

Many of your guys threads of stupid too.

Anonymous wrote:OP, ignore these people who only want to divert from your original query. You started this thread and I will respond to your questions re: TX vs CO.

Since the weather is polar opposite in the two states, I’d highly recommend using that as one of your main criteria. It can snow in Colorado for months on end (begin in Fall and not end until July....I recall once being there on 4th of July and it was snowing). I, personally, could not deal with cold temperatures for extended periods—but many people absolutely love winter sports, skiing, hiking in the mountains.

Texas is very hot in the summer, but you can wear summer clothes, kids play outside almost year round. Only a few weeks of cold weather/snow/ice to deal with...

Best of luck! I can’t wait to move from the DMV to somewhere warm....but that’s because I’m getting old and love to be active outside.

Denver is actually not that cold and it doesn't snow for months on end though it is true that it can snow on the front range pretty much from early September to early-May.

And Denver does get some big snow storms and some stretches of very cold weather every winter but it is also not at all uncommon to have weeks of 50-60 degree weather even in the winter and it almost never rains which is a big improvement over all the rain we get in the northeast.

And summers in Denver can actually get pretty hot but it is dry and it always cools off significantly at night to the point where you rarely need AC there. But that lack of rain means Denver can look really brown and feels very dusty.

But I think OP is a troll or at least faking the indifference about politics - coming on her claiming to have narrowed her choices to a couple of very wealthy and Republican Dallas suburbs and Colorado Springs which is the whitest and most politically and religiously conservative place in Colorado (which has a lot of great communities with good schools that someone on a Dr's salary could comfortably afford) really stretches credulity.

Troll. Neither even have jobs, OP writes ignorantly and child-like, and any post asking legitimate questions to help give advice or good advice given are ignored. Instead she only posts rude responses about POC and politics.

There are plenty of great neighborhoods in TX especially in Houston where you can do this. Imagine a functional Bethesda, without hills.
