Most people that do gluten free are fakers and attention seekers

Watch them all eat the "devil" gluten when they just can't resist some dessert! There is nothing wrong with bread. Some people get bloated when eating certain grains, like oats, barley, and wheat. So, don't over it like you are little ms piggy and you will be fine. Most gf people do it because it is a fad. Rich people problems. Wheat feeds the world, we should celebrate it and we have been celebrating it around the world. Instead of a cross, we should put a halo on wheat and all grains! Halleluja, praised be the bread.
Pray do argue with me, if you follow GF but do not have celiac of a wheat allergy. Prove me wrong!

You are way too invested in what others do. You can control only yourself.

You see it in this thread, with people implying that people should go gluten free to address mood disorders. Stuff like that is what makes people like OP annoyed by gluten free folks.

Eat what you want, try not to talk about it so much, definitely don't try to sell other people on it. I know you'll say "Well keto/gluten-free/caveman/vegan/whatever has helped me lose weight, build muscle, improved my mood, boosted my sex life, and made me a millionaire!" I don't care. Please stop talking about it.

OP is the one who brought this up by starting a brand new thread about it. Weird thing to do for someone who claims to think discussing dietary restrictions is only for dolts.

I did so bcs one of the gf cult members told me to do so on another thread. There is no pleasing you!

You are talking about the dietary restrictions of others while claiming those who talk about dietary restrictions (that are THEIR OWN) are dolts. The irony is lost on you. Do you do everything other posters tell you to do? I hope so. Here are you instructions: Stop obsessing over and posting about other people's bowels. There, I just saved your therapist the effort.

For those saying, just ignore it, I can tell you that I have a member of the family who insists that the family bend over backward to accommodate her "gluten-intolerance" to the extent that she won't eat anything with soy sauce in it but then will turn around and "just try" the noodles or the cake or the bread. I would even be fine with her saying that she eats a reduced gluten diet and accommodating that, but making us eliminate soy sauce, which has minimal amounts of gluten and then turning around and stuffing mouthfuls of noodles in her mouth in the kitchen when she thinks nobody is looking or eating an entire slice of cake or a croissant is maddening.

Very true, so many pps recomending their gf and other diets and diagnosing people with gluten issues. The only other diagnosis more prevalent on dcum might be ADHD, in husbands particularly. But, when you point out that they are shoving it down our throats, they cry wolf and say, why do you care, why bring it up!
Rock on, obeservant pp!

My son has had celiac for 10 years, it’s sometimes hard to manage when we travel (so we mostly stay home) and there are some restaurants we just can’t go to, but his friends‘ families really go out of their way to accommodate his diet so he’s included and I’m very grateful.

Wait til you find out I’m sensitive to dairy too. And not just lactose.

Dairy allergy is a real thing. Sensitivity is not. Don't post nonsense. I am OP and I am not disputing legitimate health problems and diagnoses.

Whoooooosh [the sound of the point sailing four feet over your head while you natter on about something no one wants to hear]

Sorry but most people do want to hear about reality. They care more about science than the opinions of random ignorant posters on DCUM.

You were wrong. Mood is affected by gluten. Deal with it.

I see your gluten-free diet has really helped with your attitude.

I'm not gluten free. I love bread. I also don't GAF if someone else gets gas from eating it and decides not to.

Plus there is MSG in soy sauce. What a racist!! She hates white people -- er, I mean white bread -- AND Asians! Would hate to be at THAT thanksgiving dinner.

You know why nobody ever talks non stop about oats giving them gas? Bcs nobody serves much oats in compnay! But, bread? Now, that is guaranteed to give you attention.
And it is a great deflector of your own responsibility for your own mood.
Gluten made me a raging...

You are mean OP. No need to call anyone Miss Piggy.

People’s gluten sensitivities, true or perceived have zero affect on my life.

So? I am too. Dairy can kill me. Yet, I, and I presume you too, have to deal with lactose-intolerant people who go on and on about how they know exaclty what it is! They too are lactose intolernat and get terrible sh*ts from diary! If you do have a dairy allergy, you are no doubt sick to death of lactose-intolerant people and the dairy fakers. They are the first ones to say, "Go on, try it, you will pay for it later, but it is worth it." Umm, no.
If you gave yourself a dairy sensitivity diagnosis, then you are one of the people that have no clue what dairy allergy is and are an attention hog, just like fake gf people.

Oh, no! Am I a "nasty" woman? And we are supposed to be nice and kind to all?

Utter xenophobia the msg hysteria. Racist to the core. I am sure above pp's family member eats Doristos and chips and all the rest of non Asian labeled foods with gusto! And most have more msg than any Asian food!

What the hell? I would get terrible sh*ts from your diary, too. Wow what an incoherent rant.
