Wrong thread. This is a girls Bethesda thread. Not boys.

Will the BLC boys teams add more orange teams in the lower ages in the spring? Was turnout so low they couldn't field a team. How is the Fall BLC rec leagues going?

Start your own thread for boys. This is about girls.

Rec league participation is way down. But that's not unexpected given the pandemic and how poorly BLC handled communication and organization this summer. Many families left to join other clubs.

New question regarding BLC girls - is there a BLC 2028 team? I know the 2027 Orange team has some 2028 girls but is there a 2028 Blue team? I don't see that they are playing in HoCo or McLean.

Bump. Anyone?

BLC 2027 Orange has a great coach. The problem is when girls don't make BLC 2027 Blue and then spread out across multiple leagues. So some 2nd tier players (meaning girls that are pretty darn good but didn't make the elite 2027 Blue) go to 2027 Orange, some go to MC, some go to NL, some go to WAYS, etc. So we keep ending up with multiple mediocre B teams rather than one, strong B team together. Again, the BLC 2027 Orange coach is really good. Constantly enthusiastic, constantly coaching, differentiating practice to meet everyone's needs. And some Orange players have been called up to fill in on the Blue team. It's a great experience but the Orange team is not so great because the girls are so spread out across leagues. Please consider working together.

There almost certainly has to be a 2028 Blue team. Maybe they are just doing tournaments this fall? Anyone know what’s happened to them?

Thanks! Looks like they are doing tournaments and no games outside of that. Thanks again

It’s great that they have a good coach, but honestly a good coach would be more conscientious about scheduling competition at the right level so that the players can develop. What happened in the Hoco League was a disaster.

Agreed but I am not sure how much of this blame goes on the coach. The organization should have put that team in the box league as opposed to HoCo. Thankfully the kids on the team took those terrible losses well. They are having fun and getting better together.
