I find it hilarious to see how few conservatives on this thread actually go to church. Especially the "Catholics". Shame on you, we do this every Holy Thursday. Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists do it too. Enough of the pentacostals and baptists do it that surely you have seen this more than once -- unless you don't actually go to Church. |
Don’t have to go to church to be a conservative. |
Or school for that matter. |
This. I’m all for equality, police reform, respect for all, etc. This, however, is beyond cringeworthy. |
+1 |
Agree completely. |
for Some people feel the need to do it and others are accepting of the gesture. It's not abusive. It's not forceful. Why would it be cringeworthy? |
+2. And I’m AA fwiw |
How about the white girl forced to kneel and apologize for her "whiteness" (whatever that is)? How about that? |
That you have to even ask is very telling. The entire world sees these images and is collectively cringing. |
What? Just because we find this cringeworthy and insulting, that doesn't mean we have never seen it as part of a Holy Service. And FWIW - I'm conservative, attend church every Sunday (online the last 3 months), and no church I have been part of has ever done this. Was it part of a Holy Week sermon? Sure. But, it has not been acted out in church. |
+1. It’s idiotic theater.....focus on policy change not this sort of trivial nonsense. It’s embarrassing. |
Instead of kneeling, wearing African clothing, or kissing feet, just pass a bill that actually addresses police brutality. |
That was a fake video. Meant to troll the internet and world. It’s gross and wrong. |
This. |
