Beautiful - whites washing black feet!

Law Enforcement is not a religious vocation. Neither is Government. See: U.S. Constitution, Amendment 1.

We do not kneel.

This. So much this. Brought a tear to my eye!

Not sure whether to hang my head in shame at this or burst out laughing. This is ridiculous and I know they are trying to be symbolic and all but this is not how to go about doing it. Good grief.

it's patronizing and infantalizing - so is the suggestion that the white people are jesus? i can't believe the people having their feet washed are going along with it.

Again, how dumb are you?

Jesus told his followers to wash EACH OTHERS’ feet because they are brothers in Christ. Read the Bible verse above.

For the past 400 years, it’s been a one-way relationship: black have “washed” the “feet” of whites (it’s a metaphor...duh). What you see in the photo is an act of brotherhood, signaling mutual respect and the beginning of a new two-way relationship between blacks and whites. Again, it’s a metaphor. And it won’t be implemented perfectly.

Of course, with people like you anything short of perfection is just an excuse to continue doing the wrong thing. It’s easier to rant about “virtue signaling” than it is to live a godly life.

I totally agree. I equate this to Bowser painting "Black Lives Matter" on the street. What good does that really do?

Go read your bible, please.

I’ve read it more than you have, that’s pretty obvious. Because I know Jesus washed the feet of the harlot.

You didn’t read that part, did ya ?

Wrong foot washing. Look to the Last Supper:

Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

In short, whites and blacks all follow Christ. They are each others’ brothers.

So, when will the blacks be washing white feet?

You haven't been paying attention. Blacks have been kissing white feet for 300 years.

They asked for forgiveness.... for WHAT?

We are returning to the days where we no longer judge by the content of character, but by the color of one's skin. Pathetic.

Why did you find it insulting?

These people are apologizing and asking forgiveness - for WHAT?

For being born white?

This is cult-like behavior. Seriously.

This. It does nothing for the debate. Just reinforces counter productive behaviors.

Because symbols really matter throughout human history. Why do Christians identify themselves with a cross, Jews with a Star of David, or Muslim with the star and crescent? Why does the American flag carry so much emotional weight and significance? If symbols didn’t matter than no one would have cared about Kapernick taking a knee!

Symbolism is extremely important in human history. To pretend it isn’t is laughable. Symbols represent human organization toward a goal.

I don’t know the symbolism behind this. Explain please.

I agree, I think it would be better to wash the feet of the blacks with firehoses. It seemed to work well in the 60's

You need to get out more. We never left those days.

“Returning?” At what point -exactly - did whoever you mean by “we” actually STOP judging people by the color of their skin? Are you talking about in the US?

Maybe you haven't. I, and millions more, have.

If he wants to, then yes. It's not like Congress is proposing a law.

We understand your pain. It's difficult for you to forget the good old days of the racist shithole country you and your ilk worked so hard to build.
