I would imagine gyms, concerts and movies would be last phase. Think about it. |
In the MD reopening plan, gyms are in phase 2. Concerts are in phase 3. |
It’s a lot easier to enforce social distancing at gyms, concerts, and movies than it is at a daycare. You can enforce spacing and require masks. |
Schools are last don’t be idiots |
My child has been in a VA daycare for the last 4 weeks. It’s been a godsend. |
Daycares will be run as pods. Probably won’t use communal areas or playgrounds. But kids will be cared for and no social distancing b/c impossible at that age. |
No, actually it would be idiotic to do anything but open them before you open ANY workplaces. |
The issue is that every time there is a case, the center will likely have to close for 2 weeks. Even if they keep the children separate as much as they can, there will still be some shared space and staff will share spaces. Some centers don’t even have bathrooms in every classroom. |
No way preschools open up any time soon |
What safety procedures do they use? Have any kids, teachers, or families gotten sick? Have they closed for exposure concerns temporarily? Any info much appreciated! |
they're in phase 2 of MD's reopening plan. |
Not the PP but I'm an essential worker who sends my daughter into preschool. Here are their procedures: - sanitization throughout the day and after the school closes for the night - temp checks for all staff members and kids before they can enter the building - parents drop off and pick up outside the building -- we can't go inside - limiting the number of kids and teachers to fewer than 10 per classroom They've been doing this uninterrupted--with the exception of maybe a week between when MD closed all the preschools and allowed them to open for essential workers. No reported cases among teachers/children/family members. Now, of course, only essential workers are sending their kids in, so it's a small fraction of the normal number of kids who go. My estimate is 50 kids at most, out of the 250 who normally go. |
