It might be something, but it isn't certainty.

Also, just because he says they can open, doesn't mean they will.

Most programs in VA? Data please. I don’t know of any open daycares (center or religious), at least in the McLean/Tysons area. I can see some home daycares could be open.

How the fk are people supposed to go back to work? Denmark reopened schools, even though much else remains closed.

In MD preschools can register to care for kids of essential workers. My daughter is going in.

What if one parent is teleworking 100 percent 40 hours and the other parent works at an essential business but can do half the work teleworking and half the week they have to go in? Would such a family qualify in MD to send their kid to preschool? Just curious. We don’t live in MD.

If you’re in a critical infrastructure job, it doesn’t matter if you telework or not. You still qualify because it’s essential that you’re able to work.

The white house said this was up to the states. They no longer have control over what the states do or don't do.

So my friend’s daycare in DC is opening tomorrow. I am not sure how this is possible.

I work for a daycare, and we are opening next week. I feel like I am being sent to the front lines of a war with zero protection. I can’t afford to quit.

I’m sorry, that sucks. Im wondering though - this has been going on for what, 6 weeks now? Many daycares have been open for essential workers this entire time, and in theory essential worker kids are higher risk than the general population since there parents are working in hospitals, etc. Have there been any outbreaks at daycares? Or among daycare teachers?

Not meaning to dismiss your concerns, just wondering if we have a reason to be hopeful.

My daughter's daycare has been open to essential workers for weeks. No reported cases among teachers or the kids.
