My child has been in a VA daycare for the last 4 weeks. It’s been a godsend.
What safety procedures do they use? Have any kids, teachers, or families gotten sick? Have they closed for exposure concerns temporarily? Any info much appreciated!
Not the PP but I'm an essential worker who sends my daughter into preschool. Here are their procedures: - sanitization throughout the day and after the school closes for the night - temp checks for all staff members and kids before they can enter the building - parents drop off and pick up outside the building -- we can't go inside - limiting the number of kids and teachers to fewer than 10 per classroom They've been doing this uninterrupted--with the exception of maybe a week between when MD closed all the preschools and allowed them to open for essential workers. No reported cases among teachers/children/family members. Now, of course, only essential workers are sending their kids in, so it's a small fraction of the normal number of kids who go. My estimate is 50 kids at most, out of the 250 who normally go.
