But hopefully the death rate will dropping (not ending, just less people dying) by the 4th week, because most vulnerable people would be dead. Anyone who is already in a nursing home is at great risk, even with quarantine because their care-workers will fall sick. Elderly will die of other complications because of lack of care. Also vulnerable are kids because of parents or caregivers dying.

Anyone who can shelter in place without starving or becoming homeless or economically devastated because of job loss have absolutely nothing to crib about. The nation is burning while Nero plays the flute!

Coronaviruses are cold viruses they generally do the most damage in cold weather. Look at the SARS pandemic. I’m not saying it WILL die down, but from what we know about coronaviruses, it should.

So how do you account for the way this covid 19 has spread in the Southern Hemisphere? Or how well it’s spreading in the southern U.S.? It’s in the 70s-80s throughout Louisiana and Georgia right now where this is currently spreading like wildfire.

I have seen this diagram discussed on other forums and so far the COVID-19 is mirroring exactly the SARS progress. So far - which doesn't mean it will always be that case.

That is reassuring I guess but still didn’t answer my question. If some of the hard hit areas of the world are basically experiencing summer weather right now but the virus is projected to go away in summer something doesn’t add up?

Coronavirus seeds or spores or whatever you call them do not like hot weather as they die out faster and can not wait for a host to absorb them as long as in a cold weather.
It does not mean that they can not and will not make people sick. It all depends how the given society takes it seriously and helps themselves what virus has to offer.

If we see a wide spread in southern hemisphere right now it is because of a disturbance of natural virus spread in the absence of intensive travel we have these days and age. Still if you kindly look at the countries and numbers here is HUGE difference how it fares in cold vs hot climate. Again, people can pass it one to another in any climate at any time if they really want to. This is irrelevant to the weather. But weather does help you if you are smart enough.
Do look at Singapore, they took full advantage of the climate help. They did all the rest of the work themselves.
If you will live in a tropics belly up and mingle and social hop and party, then good luck to you in any scenario.

OP - look at the emergency FMLA. It's up to 10 weeks after the emergency sick leave, paid at 2/3 (maximum $200/day). Not sure if that will work for you but it would give you more time than the 2 weeks.
