Wondering which is better at avoiding groupthink. We all live in a bubble but will one be better than the others in terms of exposing her to ideas that are actually different from those in the bubble? And is one worse?

Those schools are very different from each other. Have her do a shadow day at each. After that, she should be able to make a decision.

GDS has become even more selective as it’s reputation has grown.

Sidwell - No
GDS- No
Beauvoir - Yes

I guess going to Beauvoir. Not sure but seem like this year K for Beauvoir is easier to get into than previous years.

Did you get a no or a WL?

Rejected to both Sidwell and GDS... not even on waitlist

Out top choice was GDS

Do you know how many families would love to get into beauvoir and didn’t? And now you’ll deign to come? I hope you don’t. You sound like a real jerk. Beauvoir is a nice community. Hate to hear you might be coming.

No... why don't you tell us? I heard that Beauvoir was much easier this year, as well.

Not according to my friends that applied. I don’t know any families were accepted. It is a competitive year. People love the new head.

The most interesting thing about this posts and responses is that it all seems like somewhat of a crap shoot. All good schools posted and the results of acceptance, WL or reject are all over the map. No pattern really. A few accepts to everywhere but that seems to be exception and not the norm.

of course it's a crap shoot. you have a bunch of kids who are basically the same being picked based on very few data points. with a few outlying exceptions (both high and low) it's a crapshoot. luck of the draw. not "draw names from an what" luck but "do they want a volleyball player? a scrabble player? a tuba player?. who knows. it's all random
