Potomac’s college list nowhere near those of Sidwell/NCS/STA. Potomac does not send one third of it’s class to the Ivies (and equivalents - Stanford , MIT etc.). As for politics, most schools in this area have parents who are political to some degree, but the DC schools, especially the big three, are the most progressive and political. This is based firsthand experience w NCS/STA and feedback from friends w kids at Sidwell. Potomac’s college list is closer to SSSAS and it does have nice facilities including a new athletic center. |

STA matriculation to Ivy or equivalent from 2014 to 2018: 29%.
Potomac is 20% from 2016 to 2019. |
Oh Jesus. Here we go. Your post is just not accurate, but keep telling yourself that. |
Ditto. |
| Last year’s STA class had 20 kids to Yale and U Chicago alone. Princeton, Harvard, Penn, Columbia, and other equivalents also had kids and many multiples to each. Many. If Potomac is pulling that, good for them. |
| Has Potomac released acceptances? |
| Nothing yet from Potomac! |
| Did they switch to 5? |
| Some schools that were supposed to release at 5 pm... have already released. Feast or famine on news. Good luck! |
| I remember Potomac was definitely later than others last year |
| Waitlisted. Any stats on people getting off. We’re applying for grade 4. Does just about everyone that doesn’t get a spot get on the WL? |
| Declined but we have other acceptances. Good luck to all! |
Waitlisted 7th grade. On another note, I heard from a friend with upper school students that there were no UVA acceptances at Potomac this year. |
| Anyone decline 9th? |
My understanding is that it is true that none of the ED applicants were accepted AT THAT STAGE, but of those deferred several (and others who applied EA) were accepted in the next round (and more may be accepted in the RD round). |
