How many applied?

Candidly—I don’t think UVA is a huge draw for most at Potomac for ED.

I think half of the grade applied when my daughter graduated in 2018.

Don't know much about Potomac, but it is very competitive to get into UVa from northern Virginia, in part because a lot of Ivy League bound kids use it as a backup school. UVa doesn't like being the backup option, so they ding a surprising number of high caliber candidates.

We know 2 who got in off the waitlist last year for different grades. Not likely, but it is possible.

We got WL for K and that crossed my mind since I thought our application was strong.

Potomac had 17 admits to UVA this year.

oh please tell me what you thought your strong K application looked like. I need some entertainment today.

I wonder if they do not go to WL to keep grades small with all the drama of going back in fall with Covid. School needs to keep social distancing in mind. This will be an issue at all privates.

Potomac is amazing value for the money compared to comparable-tier schools. The academics are solid, the campus is great with a brand athletic center, outdoor classrooms and trails. The cost of bussing is included.

I have kids at the Cathedral Schools. We looked at Potomac and were very impressed. In the end, we preferred single sex for our kids, but don't listen to the detractors.... it's a wonderful school -- yes, high expectations in high school, as with the DC schools. If either of my kids want co-ed for high school, we will look at Potomac again.

Just want to say that lunch might not be included in the lower school tuition, and bus is only free for certain routes but not all routes.
