“Rebel” is a kind word for it. And I’m sure that some smokers are handling it well. But something like 10% of pot smokers are addicted, and they’re probably the ones getting that last desperate toke in the subway tunnel or spending all day hanging out on 7th Street.

LOL nobody gets addicted to marijuana, grandpa.

Weed makes you dumb.

A little weed makes you a little dumber. A lot of weed makes you a lot dumber.

I like always being the smartest person in the room. Although it's easier now than it used to be, because of people like you, PP.

It also makes you less of a tight-ass, which is something you desperately need.

If you can focus long enough, read this: https://www.cdc.gov/marijuana/faqs/marijuana-addiction.html

Cool. Occasional pot use hasn't stopped me from:

- Graduating in the top 9% of my class from a top 20 research university
- Graduating with honors from a top 10 research university for grad school
- Getting my dream job
- Being promoted 4 times in that job in the last 8 years

It's just made the ride a little more fun. Sorry you've missed out.

Imagine what you could have accomplished if you hadn't smoked pot.

Hmm, like what?

I've achieved every goal I've had for myself. I'm in my early 30s and make six figures at a job I love. I have a terrific husband who--despite also smoking pot sometimes--will make $300K this year, with likely an additional $170K from consulting.

You still won’t answer the question about whether you smoke in public, which is the topic of this thread. Pretty telling—you don’t. So why are you wasting that supposed (hah!) six-figure salary here?

Where it's legal, of course I smoke in public.

How am I wasting my salary here? Last I checked, this site is free.

Pot is disgusting, it smells disgusting, and I shouldn't have to smell it in my yard.

My neighbor smokes it a lot, inside and outside, and it wafts onto my porch and even into my house all the time. I told him that he has a nice home and it would be a shame if it ever caught fire from all of his pot smoking.

My neighbors get high all the time, too. The other day I sent one of my kids in the bathroom to brush his teeth and he came out saying it smelled. I went in and our bathroom was filled with pot smoke, coming in through the open window. Disgusting.

Our neighbors are huge losers, coming home late at night and slamming their car doors loudly, laughing, etc. Being high makes people suck to be around.

DP. What the hell will occasional pot use do to make you less intelligent?

You realize that the bottle of wine you have every night is just as bad, if not worse, then taking a puff of the good stuff. Not to mention, you alcoholics are ruining your lovers and brain cells.

But yeah, carry on attacking the successful person who smokes a bit of weed here and there.

And if you didn’t want it in DC, why did you vote for it???

Liberal logic

I'm liberal and I am against smoking pot. I assume many others who post that the smell is disgusting are also liberals. Liberals don't vote in lock step. You are a turd PP and your attitude is ruining our country.

You assume others are liberal? Because you are ?
And you know this ? Liberal wizard in action. Just because you are and people you may know doesn’t make the whoouniverse
Based on you.

Going by the public smokers here, this isn’t exactly something to aspire to. You both seem like immature losers bragging about non-existent jobs.

You keep using the word “occasional” but you’re not smart enough to see that the people smoking at the metro entrance are daily users (gotta get that hit before I get on the train and go into work) and so this thread doesn’t apply to you and your pot use. How smart are you actually? Or do you think everything’s about you?

Maybe if you didn't get high, you wouldn't be dead certain that the poster you are chatting with on an anonymous forum drinks a bottle of wine a night (wrong) and is an alcoholic (wrong) who is ruining her brain cells (wrong) and her lover (maybe or maybe not; am I ruining my lover with alcohol or with love?). Also I don't live or vote in dc. But keep shouting at that person. I agree whoever she is, she deserves it.

Why are you assuming those people are daily users? Pretty shocking lack of logical thinking there for such an apparently smart person.

And to the person accusing me of being unproductive: I'm chilling at home today. It's called taking a day off.
