PS. We’ve legalized possession (and I’m actually for that, given that minorities were being jailed in outrageous numbers). But we haven’t explicitly legalized creating clouds of skunk stink while you get stoned in public. Why are you against even reasonable measures to reign in consumption of intoxicants, in line with the measures that are already in place for public consumption of alcohol and harder drugs? |
DP here. I am sorry. But your life sounds like a loser's life. You cannot fall to sleep without medicating yourself? You think that you being an "artist" makes you somehow superior to the person who watches TV (fyi , we don't even have tv in our house, but I don't judge people who watch it). You are wrong assuming that a lot of folks live live like yours. I don't smoke or drink alcohol, and I know a lot of people like me. |

Studies that link pot to worse performance in school, college and beyond.

I’m OK with legalizing possession. Just like I’m OK with buying alcohol and taking it home or to a friend’s house to drink.
But I’m not OK with public drunkenness. Why should it be any different for pot? I’m sure there are millions in AA of all races who agree with these reasonable barriers to intoxication. |
It's just like with regular smokers. They don't know how much it smells to non smokers. Same for pot users. |
Agree! |
Defending your pot addiction? Shrugs. I can see the perspective. Pot is a drug and like all drugs, it's something that has substantial negative consequences for many of its users. Many pot users do seem to refuse to acknowledge that it can be problematic because they can't accept criticism of their habit. It's the same with alcoholics and smokers, who are often quite defensive of their addiction. |
You have no idea what you are talking about, there are tons of conservatives who smoke pot and aren't religious. |
Hilarious. I know a TON of recreational pot users. I know a lot of folks who drink a lot. That’s way worse. |
Pot make you stupid, literally! |

The number of people that smoke up in the morning before going to work, is insane. You smell it driving, on the metro, walking.
So many addicts. Smoking up a few times a year to decompress is one thing. Smoking daily or weekly is a problem. Gross, stinky addicts. |
| When I don’t have to breathe any car exhaust or perfumes or cologne then I will do my part for cannabis smell. Ball is in your court. Better get started with your perfume and scented lotion bans. |
| Our neighbor does starting 1 pm weekends. Dude! Your kid will model this behavior. ?! |
Our neighbor does this every day, multiple times a day. I'm actually a bit worried about him. |
Interest. I've never smelled anyone's perfume or scented bath products while in my car driving on the highway or walking my dogs in the morning. The smell is everywhere, including private spaces like our own homes and cars. |
