Try to blend in. Look angry. Maybe say something generic about the ref.

Mm, people have been talking about the tournament in general in this thread. Do you really think there are 5 pages of posts talking about u12 girls in some random rec all star tournament?

There were some freaking out parents from Loudoun at Hutchison this afternoon. I have never seen so many parents yelling and arguing with the ref before at a little kid soccer game. Wow.

A lot of it is soccer moms doing the floss

Loudoun parents and their coaches want to believe they are better than others and it hurts to find out we are all equals in the game of life if you don’t embrace that as a virtue of being human

Loudoun parents are almost always VERY ANNOYING. Guess that's true even in rec.

We also had an unpleasant experience with some Loudoun parents on Saturday. What’s that about?

We had a kid in this tournament and it was so fun!
Our age group was mostly great support by parents, but I did see some others get ugly.
I don’t care that these kids may or may not be as good as travel teams. It’s for the love of the game and it was really fun to watch.

Of all the teams we played at bethesda cup- loudon parents were the most annoying.

our u10 boys lost to the team Loudoun was so upset about. They were a perfect normal team of kids playing normal u10 soccer. The parents were very excited, and it was a mostly Hispanic team from PWC so there was lots of coaching and cheering in Spanish. They were just being sore losers I suspect. Really sad behavior from parents at a rec for-fun tournament (my kid had fun and his team lost almost every game). chill out loudounites.

Agree, our girls had a great time.

I think a club's second-tier travel team *might* win U16 All-Stars but might not.

Parents were pretty good were I was this weekend. Being out in the cold can be kind of a bonding experience.

I saw the angry Loudoun parents too and was wondering what happened?

Saw some great little u9 players in the championship game (our team lost badly! Oh well) so they aren’t all off on travel.

I must know you! My son played in that game also for cya. I saw the end of the u10 Loudoun game before and there were parents angrily yelling at the ref and he was yelling back because he stopped the game for shoe-tying (??). There was an angry old Loudoun grandpa who looked like Wilford Brimley's Evil Twin yelling about something. There had to be more that happened before we arrived. There was a huge pissed-off mob of Loudoun parents down in the corner of the field for a long time but I couldn't figure out how to sneak over and eavesdrop. Agree that the SYA team had some terrific players who did not look the least bit tired in that third game. My little guy was sucking wind lol.

Nosy is a huge character flaw of mine as well. I am always trying to sidle up to the pissed off throngs and figure out what their damage is.

But I thought Rec parents were better behaved than travel parents.

Given that most DMV parents (especially soccer parents) are Type-A workaholics, does it surprise anyone to hear of "parents behaving badly" on a regular basis here?

Parents on here are out of control.

Agree 100%!

McLean was seeded #1 going into Sunday's finals, to no ones surprise. Sadly, the U12 girls could not duplicate their win over GFR at the last Father's Day All-Stars tournament.

The 2020 re-match can't come soon enough.
