| IF is not the same as fasting for religious purposes, which still allow you to eat smaller portions. For example you could eat three smaller meals that equal one full meal during a religious fast. |
Also, when you are fasting, there are a bunch of things happening in your body. For most people, the most important change is that your body to go into a state called gluconeogenesis, where your body creates glucose from stored fat. If you are constantly snacking, your body never goes into this mode. |
Yup, and during Ramadan the evening meal Muslims eat to break their fast is called "iftar." It literally means "break fast" or "break of fast." |
| Skipping breakfast is skipping breakfast. Nobody should be eating all day long anyway. Lack of common sense. You messed up by being a glutton, and rather than going back to basics, you come up with a fancy diet name! |
Um, okay but what does being politically correct have to do with it? Does trump had intermittent fasting or something? BTW, I once developed an excellent diet idea -- I didn't eat anything from noon until dinner. Then I realized that was how most people just went about their day..... still lost weight tho. |
Eating breakfast literally means to break a fast Skipping breakfast extends the fast Man you're dumb. |
Me too! I'd rather not eat at night. In fact those studies someone linked, indicate that it is better to skip dinner than breakfast. But, where is the fun in that? Dinners are huge and nice, and social, right? Trump could use plain old fasting... for 40 days or so. "I am fasting," it has a nice martyrish ring to it, no? Big deal about everything, as opposed to nobody even, ever, needing to know you skipped a meal. The reference to religious piety for gluttons is just too much. |
He needs to fast for as long as he is being investigated. For anything.... |
Ha, ha... he will fast forever! |
I don't actually give a damn about IF. I eat sensibly (mostly) and exercise a lot. I DO care about the English language though. A 12 hour fast is a fast, in English (and most other languages) BTW this For example you could eat three smaller meals that equal one full meal during a religious fast. is absolutely not the case for a the minor fasts in Judaism or for Ramadan. The period of the day when eating is banned, its banned absolutely (except for the ill) |
Okay thanks. Not the case with Catholicism. That's why I said for religious purposes as there are many. |
