This is the important part. My friend looks like this (the white blonde hair, blue eyes, accent, etc.) and her husband obviously thinks she is a total ditz. She kind of is - I love her as a friend, but I could never live with her. These men are not thinking long term at all, OP.

Why should being a ditz have anything to do with her physical attributes

You be sure about whatever you like. But in my circle, if you flirt with your spouse's friends or acquaintances, you are seen as desperate and less desirable - certainly not more desirable. A person with something to offer doesn't have to go to extremes to be attractive, they just are.

I don't know, ask her husband (who thinks she is a ditz -and clearly, that is why she is flirtatious, to prove to him she is still "desirable"). If you are truly desirable, you don't have to go looking or soliciting attention.

Plenty of women in certain communities "shop around"/'keep their feelers out/try to have a Plan B - whatever you want to call it, OP. It is cheesy, and obvious - they are fed up with their husband (usually not enough money for their spending habits, etc.) If their wives get hit by a bus tomorrow, I am extremely doubtful this would be the kind of woman they would pick, OP.
