You really think there are people who are somehow really girls born in “boy bodies” and vice versa? Really? |
And they can still be identified biologically as male or female. Because science. There are so many awesome lawsuits just waiting to happen if the county really agrees to a third gender. I identify as hexadecimal. If we don't get 78 identified and recognized as x, I'm going to sue the county! |
+ 1 million The kids need help and trained professionals would be helpful. Adding an X gender is decidedly not helpful. |
| I’m a school counselor. I have worked with transgender kids. I am convinced that yes, there are boys who are actually girls in terms of their gender identity, and vice versa. There also are boys who are effeminate and don’t fit into any socially acceptable “mold” of a boy, and vice versa. All of this is ok. We all need to challenge stereotypes and allow kids to be who they are. We need all gender bathrooms, we need to teach kids to be inclusive and respectful of everyone, AND we need trained staff who can help kids explore their identity in healthy, safe ways. And that includes teachers who are willing to use kids’ preferred pronouns etc. All the judgment helps no one. |
This one is. There are so many priorities. Like keeping our kids safe from sexual predators. Instead, outside groups are influencing what our public schools focus on |
You probably work for rainbow youth |
Ah, those notorious "outside agitators". |
Of course! I grew up with one in a very small town, and I'm in my forties. |
These outside lobby groups represent the students who may otherwise be ostracized. There are plenty of outside groups that influence public schools--if you are concerned you might want to start with the groups that make billions of dollars by forcing useless testing onto our kids. Not the ones making diddly squat trying to keep kids safe from bigots. |
I appreciate your message but why do we need all gender bathrooms? I'm guessing you have a degree in education or psychology or some similar field. Can you explain it professionally with out using 'safe space' or 'making someone comfortable' or 'being accommodating'. I can understand the pragmatic value, but seriously... what is the need[i]? |
The same can be said of single-gender bathrooms too, of course. |
Science is more complicated than you think it is, and nobody is asking for people's karyotypes at the bathroom door. |
*golf clap for you* I'll keep your lyophilized serum in my -80 freezer while you drive right past the point. Thanks |

Or maybe he was an effeminate gay man? |
