“In a nod to the need for trust and the scandal that took down his predecessor, Ferebee’s high-school-age son, who will move from Indianapolis this summer, has entered the lottery for next school year but will likely attend a zoned neighborhood school wherever the Ferebees permanently settle, the new chancellor said.”
I’m pretty certain he’s at Wilson. No way he’d go private. As the OP, I say let’s move on. https://www.the74million.org/article/100-days-into-his-tenure-at-scandal-weary-dc-schools-new-chancellor-lewis-ferebee-promises-to-move-at-the-speed-of-trust/ |
| I guess it be a pretty tough gig to have him in your class as a first year teacher, lol. Your bosses boss eagle eyeing your practice, lol |
Ha! Very true. |
What if PP is AA? |
Could be, but I doubt it. It’s been a few months and people are already demanding he get fired. What has he done for him to be considered a lap dog? From everything I’ve heard, he sounds very promising. |
Oh really? Based on what? |
Yeah. Swell job at handling the situation at JOWilson. |
People that work for him. What do you have? |
| I’m ready for Mayoral control of the schools to end. Let the school board and City Council have control. Mayors aren’t very good at it. |
The makers of many tech products don't use much tech at home at all. Plenty of people are in charge of marketing services and products that they themselves do not use or consume. Doesn't make it a bad product. Point is, our interest in where his son goes to school is not the same as being public information. We want transparency to know that he did not skirt rules that other parents have to adhere to, but if he made the choice that a DCPS school is not a good fit it does not mean DCPS is not good enough, it means child needed some combination of things maybe not offered. Not offered and not good enough are not the same thing. |
I agree with this. |
+1 |
Oh interesting. So I guess even the tech moguls don’t test their consumer products at home? Also, isnt that so lovely. The child needs something not offered and goes private. Oh, I guess zero other kids who don’t have that elite privilege have no needs for things not offered? They’re what, garbage? Make that thing offered. Whatever you possibly could even mean (from what I know the child doesn’t have severe special needs; what, they super need water polo? Your logic is sickening. |
| You’re the f-omg chancellor. Eat the dog food. |
| I don’t know where the son enrolled but I hope he is at Wilson. Wilson is a complete mess this year and it would be helpful if the chancellor got some sense of the problems there. Not sure if the school or central is to blame for the disfunction - probably both. Overcrowded classrooms, paper shortage, teachers have no supplies, athletics is a mess, etc. Wilson needs big time help. |
