Where is chancellor sending his son to school?

He is IB for Wilson, so if that’s not good enough for his kid (and not because he’s going to an application school instead), that’s pretty damning. Like, sure, if he lived on the Hill and refused to send his kid to Eastern, I get it... but if he refuses to send his kid to the only “good” non-application HS in DC, that tells you what he really thinks (absent very special circumstances like SN).

I think it depends on the kid. I'd add that, for various reasons that have been discussed here before, many AA families in the neighborhood opt out of Wilson in favor of Walls, private, parochial, etc.,

He has said DCPS and he knows his predecessor got fired for messing with this. You all can go ferret out the answer, but I'm pretty assured that this isn't the issue to spend your time on.

This. Antwan told us all to send our kids to our IB DCPS school, even the worst of the worst schools. Then he broke the rules and sent his kid to Wilson because his IB school wasn't good enough for his kid. If Wilson isn't even good enough for Ferebee's kid, then DCPS can NEVER again tell us that any DCPS is good enough for ours.

This was my problem with Fenty. He made the school issue the public's business by saying he'd send the twins to DCPS local, but his then wife Michelle was NEVER on board with it. He was talkin' out his neck.

Then Antwan did the same and blamed HIS wife for asking and getting a transfer. Seriously? How could he not know?

Say what you will about Kaya and Michelle Rhee, they both walked the walk when it came to their own kids. At that time it was DCPS policy to give the chancellor full control over placements. Rhee didn't use it as much as people thought. Kaya only did it when Muriel told some new staffers and old friends they could like 3 weeks before school. (Trust me. Central office was not happy about it.)

I honestly don't remember Ferrebee making any promises, so I'm not bothered about a high school kid legitimately getting into a selective DCPS or a specialized charter or private that doesn't offer what DCPS has (like religion, special needs, etc.)

I spent 10 minutes this afternoon figuring out the son's name (which I won't share). But there isn't anything online (social media) which indicates where he attends. My bet is on Wilson.
