A 12 pack a week

IDK, personally, I drink a glass of wine just about every night, and this 4 beers a day every single weekend seems like a lot to me.

As long as he stays under the "100 line" (for example, 14 drinks a day for each of 7 days would be 98 drinks and "under" the 100 line) he is good to go. More than that is OK, on special occasions, but probably not a good idea too often.

Are you for real? I can't drink 13glasses of water per day much less 13 beers! Or do you have a different definition of a drink?? If you drink that much booze please go to the hospital ASAP.

I meant one "Drink" is a bottle of beer, etc. Duh! Stay below 100 per week (maximum!)

Sorry OP! 4 beers a night is horrible, especially if it's high alcohol. I would divorce ASAP. I have seen friends who were married to alcoholics and were so much better after divorce. Plus imagine being with someone who doesn't have a huge beer belly.

Where I come from (Wisconsin) it would be abnormal to drink that little.

4 high alcohol content beers a night is very abnormal. If it was bud light it would be close to 15-20 beers a night.

Shut up, donkey-woman.

Many of the most crafty alcoholics find ways to increase the juiciness of the alcohol in their life by injecting it (the booze) into other types of alcohol, sometimes using an injectable hypodermic needle or a small eyedropper. That is what OP's hubby-man is doing and he's sneaky too. He wants to put that hooch into his "harmless" beer and that start flying high. What say you?

Why a needle? Why not just pour it in and stir?

I have never heard of anyone doing this ever.

NP. My stepdad used to spike his beer directly from the big bottle of Absolut.

Anonymous wrote:OP, if it bothers you, tell him. Don't try to pathologize his behavior though- he doesn't sound like he is abusing alcohol. But it would be fine to insist on a blood panel to see if he has liver damage (very unlikely given that he is fit- overweight people are more likely to have liver damage) if it makes you feel better.

More generally, tell him you have a problem with it and why- describe the effect it is having on you.

Wow nice conflation. Being overweight can cause fatty liver but alcohol abuse alone can do it and it doesnt matter I'd they are thin/fit or not. Let's not get people thinking 'oh as long as I stay slim I can drink as much as I want.' Severe alcoholism can even make you thinner b.c you stop eating.

It can, but fatty liver is less common among fit people in general because they are metabolizing the fat. 4 beers on weekend nights isnt likely to cause fatty liver in a healthy, thin man who consistently works out. But, a blood panel would be more useful than two strangers on the internet arguing about a third stranger.

98 per week is OK? You've lost your damn mind.

NP here. I don’t think 12 drinks per week needs to be an issue. It averages to 1.7 per day. Chill.

Anonymous wrote:My husband drinks a 12 pack of beer a week. I should say a weekend because he only drinks on the weekends (Friday night to Sunday night). It seems like a lot to me. He is healthy, eats well, exercises 4 nights a week. It just seems like the older we get that 12 beers a week will catch up. He doesn't get super drunk, but he also drinks beers like double IPAs, Belgium, Imperial Stouts so we're are talking 10% alcohol beers which makes it seem worse. Does anyone else have husband's that drink this much and should I be concerned? When I brink my concerns he says he will cut back if it starts hurting his health or causing weight gain.

how many bottles of wine do you drink per week?

is it coincidence that OP didn't answer this one?
