Than wait for DC first responders *

We live in Upper NW and would call Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. DC Fire & EMS might do something wacky like take you to Howard U Hospital. That happened with a journalist who was mugged and knocked unconscious near his home several years and the DC ambulance driver went to Howard because she wanted to run a personal errand afterward. The man was left to die on a gurney in a Howard hallway. Incompetence (squared).

This is horrible.

Who was the journalist?

The worst is that DC later reinstated the ambulance driver:

Wow.

I can't believe this.

I can! This is a cesspool run by thugs for thugs. There are no laws to protect the victims. The lawyers are either too stupid or too lazy. There's no fear of any consequences.

To be fair, it happened 15 years ago.

Don't you think things have been getting better?

DC was on an upward trajectory with Tony Williams and then Fenty. Momentum stalled with Gray, and unfortunately DC is falling backwards with Bowser.

I think bowser fundamentally doesnt understand the quality of life codo ncerns that William's and tu a degree fenty addressed. These got people back into district. But if its all tax tax tax with zero regard for quality of life these people will move out. Bowser will be left without the revenue .

Someone got stabbed a few days ago.

This is not just about quality of life concerns.

But without sweating some of what some may consider "quality of life" concerns, its harder to deter more serious crime. I mean, alone among major cities, DC MPD doesn't even have a traffic division. Not only does this lead to unsafer roadways for pedestrians and drivers (and slow response when accidents and major tie-ups happen), but the relative lack of attention to road violations means one less tool in the crime fighting toolbox. Police departments during traffic stops catch a lot of bad guys who have outstanding warrants, and the visible police presence can deter others.
