I switched teams. You NEED to serve more than pizza at a party!!!!

Usually those trampoline party places will only let you have pizza, cake, etc. Limited menus.

Wait. Didn’t the host already pay for the party, and the price included parents and kids? Or do they pay at the end of the party with the grand total?

You claim that the party guests were 5-9 years old and that most parents were jumping and therefore very hungry.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Parties are drop-off for kids in elementary school. Parents don't stay and jump. Even when my kids were little and had parties where parents stayed, no moms ever ate the food that was served. Dads might grab a slice of pizza or cake if there was any leftover after the kids were served. Parents don't come to these parties expecting to be fed. They know to eat before or after.

Usually you give the place an estimate, and then they count how many people you had actually participate, and adjust the bill.

+1
And why was your 3 yr old invited to a party where everyone was ES aged? I'm guessing he was a tag along sibling and not invited?

Fake post.

You went to a 2 hour party and they served pizza and cake and you’re complaining?
Do they not sell food at the trampoline place? Buy yourself something if you want more food than that.

Wtf parents jumped? Hahahah who does that! Was your name on the invite? No! Op they invited your kid. The expectation was that you would drop and go. No one wants to pay extra for you to jump, or feed you.

Totally a troll! Imagine the horror of 9 year olds whose parents were jumping! Plus parents of 5-9 year olds stayed?! And wanted to be fed? So, OP, is trolling a full time job for you? Or eating pizza? Are you one of the teens who likes to post here and laugh? If so, this is a pretty lame trolling effort.

Have party begin at 3 pm and Ed at 4 pm, serve ice cream and cake at 3:00. Have party at home and do not give out goody bags. Stop the insanity of spending $1,000 or more for a child's birthday party.

A standard slice of pizza is roughly 250 calories. Most places budget 2 slices a person. Are you saying 2 full slices of pizza (500 calories) isn’t enough for your 3 year old? If so, you should’ve brought a snack to supplement. I assume there was also cake, so your kid easily could have ingested 700 calories at that party if he wanted to.

I guess I just don’t see the issue with there not being enough food.

Being food. Some allow outside fruit and veggies but most don't and charge a premium. For us, we were short on food as not everyone RSVP's so we had to order more. They charge a fortune for additions like bread sticks, fruit and veggies. Feed your kid before you go or after.

I am confused about so much of this thread. OP, two slices of pizza is more than enough for me, a grown adult. Both you and your kid were not satisfied by two slices of pizza PLUS cake? You might want to seriously consider your regular portion sizes. When I was struggling to lose the last 10 pounds of baby weight, I downloaded my fitness pal and what I found in terms of how many calories I was actually consuming was very enlightening. Maybe you should do the same??

In terms of parents jumping/not jumping....I would imagine it would be polite if a parent wants to jump to pay for themselves? My child is still little but when I was in my 20s I had friends who already had little kids and I attended a few of these trampoline parties and all the parents stayed as well and any adult who wanted to jump just paid for themselves. Is this not the actual etiquette?

As the parent of a kid who doesn't eat pizza, some fruit or other nibble in addition is always appreciated...but not expected. I always feed my kid beforehand or at least send him with an apple and granola bar.

It depends on the party facility. Last one we did was at the end and as each extra kid came who didn't RSVP and ordering extra food for all the kids and parents, the bill doubled.

Mine doesn't eat pizza. I feed him before he goes or he waits till after the party. Or, send food. You cannot expect a full menu at party venues.
