I switched teams. You NEED to serve more than pizza at a party!!!!

ok, op, so there wasn't enough pizza? They ran out of pizza? Still don't understand why a 3 year old was still hungry.

OP why were you hungry if there was pizza?

You're pretty off-base if you expect to always be satiated/satisfied with someone else is serving at a party, be it a kid party or an adult dinner party.

When someone else is hosting, accept their hospitality graciously, but always have a back-up plan. That can mean a granola bar and a banana in your purse for a kid party, or eating a small meal beforehand for an adult dinner party.

Or--and here's a crazy thought--you will live, for an hour or two, with being a bit hungry. GASP!

This is how mature, thoughtful people navigate in the world.

But the parents weren't jumping? The parents were just standing around supervising while the children played.

No, many were jumping. The kids were little.

This cracks me up. Seriously, I wish I could link to every other party thread where people say to SERVE A LOT OF FOOD.

You said your 3 year old was the youngest and the rest were 5-9. I have never seen parents jump in the bouncy houses at birthday parties! What a bunch of weirdoes. Let the children play.

My son’s 5th birthday is next weekend. We are serving pizza, chicken nuggets, fruit, veggies, pretzels, and ice cream. I picked a location where we could bring our own food though. Most places don’t allow that and you have to order from their (limited) options.

Don't feed the trolls.

It was a trampoline park per the OP, not a bounce house. Plenty of adults jumping at trampoline parks.

Why won't you answer the questions about why your son was still hungry?

It was at trampoline place. Not a bouncy house place. EVERYONE was jumping.

Ok, so pizza is enough!

These forums crack me up. On *MOST* party questions, the host asks "Is pizza enough?" and people say "No, you need fruit/hummus/goldish/salad for adults" and on and on. I always thought that was crazy.

Now, we went to a party with just pizza. It was from 11:30-1:30, so exactly lunch time. After an hour of jumping, everyone was pretty hungry.

Food service isn't sufficient.

And yes, there was cake.

At 3, my son was the youngest. Everyone else was 5-9 years old.

Are you saying there wasn’t enough pizza? Did your kid want a second slice and it was all gone? Did they not order enough for the adults? I don’t understand how you would be hungry if they had pizza available.

At kids parties I pretty much plan on there only being junk food. But for a party at noon I would expect there to be enough food so that I’m not hungry - meaning something like 2 slices/per person.)

I meant he was starving going into the party room. It was lunch time and he had been bouncing for an hour. They only offered pizza. About 2 slices per person.

I just meant that AT lunchtime AFTER bouncing, just pizza isn't sufficient.

This thread disagrees. But tomorrow, someone will bash an OP for saying she'll only serve pizza.

You never know how the wind will blow on DCUM...

I would expect there to be pizza leftover if they had 2 slices per person. Most kids only eat 1 slice. Most adults graciously decline, as it is not a party for them.

No one should leave hungry from a party where they were offered 2 slices of pizza and cake.
