DD went to the 05 session. There were a lot of girls from the lower Arlington teams and maybe one or two from other clubs. Maybe they wanted to see what talent they already have? |
Yes it is for next year, which begs the ? why are U12/2008s included when it was stated that is abolishing DA for U12 next year...and U13 the following year? Did they not get the memo? |
Now, we believe that the time is right to empower and support Clubs and Members across the country to operate standards-based programming. The Academy Clubs have shown a commitment to this collective effort to improve environments, and in many cases have already expanded the philosophy to additional non-Academy teams and ages within their Clubs. In addition, Members have also taken steps to adopt PDI’s. We are confident that the initiative can continue to grow as needed without direct programming hosted or organized by U.S. Soccer or the Development Academy. Feel free to read that how you want. They implemented the standards they wanted and now are backing off direct programming. Most likely they will do the same with U-13 in order to focus on direct programming for U-14 to U-19 teams. Given that the U-20s and U-17s did not advance in FIFA World Cup play it makes sense to focus more resources at the older girls. |
Ummm, there is no GDA u12 group. That memo, which hasn't been officially confirmed with a US Soccer origin (it's not on the DA site), has no relevance to the GDA. There has been no discussion of "doing the same with u13" and it is not in any way likely. Some folks need to stop posting their desires as facts. |
Don't expect them to post the memo on their site. It is written in a very political way because it's bad news. If you think it's fake then you are making the big leap that someone cares enough to write that and has the ability to write it in a very positive political way. That's not likely IMHO. I am not a conspiracy theorist. |
There is no u12 age group for GDA, never was. 2008s are being invited to try out for the u13 GDA program for next year. This is because there is no intention of dropping the u13 group for GDA. It's more likely that it will expand to the entire country now that it has been piloted in one conference last year and two conferences this year. There is a u12 Boys DA group and that is the group under discussion. There has been no formal announcement that this group has been curtailed on the USDA site, just the one journal editor's post that was referenced in this thread. A lot of smoke is being blown in this thread by someone. |
It has nothing to do with being a conspiracy--it isn't relevant to the Girls. There is no u12 program. There is a u13 pilot that will only expand. That memo, even if some super secret memo never to be released to the public, is only applicable to the u12 boys program, which is a thing. You are blowing smoke. |
What you are saying makes no sense. Why is it more likely that they are expanding U13s when they are saying they are reducing direct programming for U12? Denial is the normal first step when most people get bad news. It's ok. Pretend that's it's fake. US Soccer is in crisis mode following the YNT results these past few months. I guess you deny that too. |
I am not blowing smoke. I am commenting on the news. I am saying it's bad news for U13 across USSDA. It's a bad trend. And it makes sense. |
This is your narrative in your head. There is no u12 group for girls and never has been, only for boys. That memo isn't meant for GDA, even is it's not a fake! You are apparently trying to scare parents away from DA to ECNL clubs at U13. We have seen this kind of BS before, last year in fact. |
Oh wow. Don't be so defensive. Nobody is after you. Nobody is trying to scare anyone. If you think what we say on this message board affects whether some family decides to come to DA vs ECNL - I don't know what to tell you. |
| That was not defensive. Just facts. Yes, people who don’t do their research may use these comments to make decisions. That’s why people seem so intent on posting rumor here, to try to sway unsuspecting parents. No other reason for it, honestly. |
How about the reason being to discuss youth soccer to hear other's opinions and become better informed? Because we are interested since we spend so much time and money on it? Not everyone has an agenda. If you really believe what you wrote and at the same time deny that DA has any issues and try to sugar coat everything, if you only want to see the positive news posted and suppress the bad stuff you are doing those parents a disservice. I guess you are just here to sway people like you said. Don't assume that motivation is the same for others. |
Discussion of facts. no one has an issue with. An unsubstantiated rumor that GDA is shutting down u13, when in fact it has expanded and is expanded, yes, there is an issue there. Why do you feel the need to discuss a lie? |
I can only imagine that there is some level of interest in DA at their ECNL club. The level of hysterics in the ECNLers posting here lately is amazing. |
