We got our letter - waitlisted but they have the wrong GPA listed.....the letter says the GPA used for the calculation was a 3.65 - and it should be a 4.0....does anyone know who I call to address this? Otherwise I guess I'll just spend all day tomorrow bouncing around PGCPS offices.

I think they use an unweighted GPA of the core subjects. Could that be the issue?.

I heard that Dr Wise at ERHS was very helpful getting information so you might want to try him

Waitlisted here as well, which is not a surprised since DC bombed the PSAT. GPA is excellent though.

Did anyone else notice they changed the dates on the IB acceptance intent form? In our snail mail letter it said accept by April 1 st but it closed on March 28th online.

I'd start with the Testing Office 301.702.3860.

My friend's son got a total score of 2250 and is waitlisted #147 for Roosevelt. She's worrying about the likelihood of his getting in. If she accepts the place he has been offered in the Parkdale IB program he will forfeit his place on the ERHS waitlist. Is there a number she can call to get clarification on this, and how likely is it that #147 will get in?

My DC's friend was #130 on the waiting list last year and didn't get a spot. They definitely do use the waiting list (my DC got a spot when he was #10), but not sure they get that far. When we were notified and offered a spot, I believe that it came from the S&T coordinator at ERHS, IIRC. So perhaps reach out to the school?

I wouldn't count on getting in. Most people who get seats at ERHS will take them. How many seats are there in total for the program?

According to this chart, ERHS accepts 250 Freshman into the program each year.

Last year, I emailed the person listed in the letter to find out. Sorry I can't recall the person's name, but she responded immediately with the information.

Did you ever get a resolution to this?

Turns out I was wrong….i was using final year grades plus first quarter (which were all As) but GPA is done quarter by quarter….so a few Bs in different classes/quarters resulted in the lower GPA

Got the Sci & Tech eligibility letter yesterday. Be on the lookout for this year’s notice.
