Supposed to be released tomorrow |
| Now the website says results will be mailed with no timeline. This is yet another reason why families leave |
| I checked Scriborder and there is now a option to fill out a S/T intent form……hoping this means my DC got in. |
I saw that. When I went into scriborder there was an option to fill in the Intent form for the Science and Tech and Aviation programs. They were greyed out yesterday.....I'm not sure if that means we have a slot or if it looks like that for all kids. |

Yes, this is strange. Below is the new message in the FAQs (typos and all).
How and when will I receive notification about entrance into the High School Specialty Programs? “Parents are notified of their student’s eligibility for High School Specialty Programs via All communication regarding your child’s status will be in Scriborder. You must have an active account to receive this information. In order to accept your child’s seat, all parents must complete the steps to enroll electronically through Scriborder at https://pgcpsmdc.scriborder.com” |
| Does anyone see anything other than "processing?" |
For the Sci and Tech, IB and other programs you need to click the green button that says begin registration. You then chose your child’s name and there should be a list of options, for me Sci and Tech, Aviation and IB all give the option to do the letter of Intent. |
I am wary to think that this means we are in. My kid has a really high GPA but tanked the PSAT. |
|
The intent form shows up for everyone.
I believe you're only supposed to fill out the intent form when you get a letter by mail saying your child is either accepted or waitlisted. Hopefully we get the mail soon! |

This is full on buffoonery. We've already checked out and stayed private, so someone else will get a spot. Good Luck.
If they just had 1 friggin duck in a row we would have considered ERHS. A few years ago my other kid had to accept and enroll at ERHS before the private decisions were all out. We later disenrolled but he did like the orientation and it was a tough decision. Now they seem inept. What is going on? |
I wonder if they are sending out letters to all 8th graders or just those who got in or are wait-list. My kid got placement in one of the VPA program and we got an email and text message and it was clear that they were accepted. Why didn't they just use that same system? Is it because everyone is entered automatically so they don't have emails for everyone? |
They're sending it to every 8th grader who applied with either acceptance, waitlist, or rejection. No idea why they don't use a better platform in this day and age. Things could've been so much faster and stress-free, but then again its pg county |
You no longer apply for the STEM magnet high school programs for 9th grade admission. All 8th graders are considered. So are they going to send out letters to the ~11,000 8th graders in PGCPS. I wonder why they just couldn't send a message via SchoolMax. I hope they have the good sense to extend the deadlines for VPA, IB etc. who have to commit by 4/1. Once you commit you lose your slot in other programs. |
So the portal will not be updated like it says on the FAQs? This is messy. Guess they will have to field phone calls
|
| Families should receive letters today or in the next few days. They were postmarked on 3/29. Good luck! |
