Fit is for Snowflakes

Top 20 schools are a crap shoot for my kid, but he will get in everywhere else that he wants to apply. His SAT math score was perfect. His other scores are very good. He has amazing ECs. He has some regional awards. Since the top 20 is a crap shoot, and the "second tier' is really full of wonderful, wonderful schools that come in a wide variety of types (big state schools, private urban universities, LACs) in a wide variety of regions, we're looking hard at fit. He might as well find a school that he loves.

First of all, you are going to a forum in a RELATIVELY wealthy part of the country. It focuses, largely, on what factors to consider when choosing colleges. So, you should not jump all over people for sharing how they made that decision, especially if they are happy with the outcome.

Yes, lots of families, in the US and elsewhere do not have the luxury of considering college, let alone fit. But those who do are not guilty of gross social injustice.

Do you go into restaurants and tell people who are reading the menu that they should take whatever the restaurant wants to serve because they are lucky to have food. Your views are nonsense, and your bitter/angry attitude is worth examining.
