Well, perhaps PP should work on her prose because that point was far from clear.

It was extremely clear. Beyond clear. Crystal.

You must not read (or listen) very much as it is a common sentiment that even people we think we know can be monsters behind closed doors. Not sure how you got two sides to a story out of that. It truly is baffling to me how you could draw that conclusion, but not everyone has good reading comprehension skills so I'll let it go.

Let's see, "What happens anywhere behind closed doors is always a mystery."

Hmm, what happened here happened behind closed doors and involves a he said-she said--which could be reasonably interpreted as "a mystery." How could anyone interpret that as anything other than "extremely clear"? LOL. You're the idiot, PP. Sorry you can't write clearly or effectively, and have anger management issues to boot.

I’m not the person who wrote that, but you are messed up and should just take the L on this one.

NP here = +1. "Who knows what happens behind closed doors" is a common expression. As PP said, just take the loss.

Sometimes the aftermath makes it obvious, as in this heinous attack.

Why, oh why, are the public schools and the churches always covering for their rapists?

That's not how I read any of the statements.

Agreed. I heard a frazzled principal who is trying not to convict someone before their trial and also trying to protect her students from concepts that are far beyond anything an elementary school kid should ever have to ponder.

She is a wonderful principal and a great person. She’s being professional and diplomatic. My kids go to Shepherd and I have zero issue with what Principal Brawley has said.

If the Montgomery County Police Department called my school to say a teacher has been arrested for a hanious rape, I'd hope the principal would cooperate with the investigation.

Principal Brawley is an outstanding educator and overall gem of a human being.

Maybe she chose not to share allegations and news reports because she is sticking to legal facts that exist right now.
She probably has to be careful about what she says about someone who has not been convicted of anything yet.

Her focus is rightly on elementary school children who don't need more details other than they have a substitute teacher.
Why do parents need an elementary school principal to repeat a news report?

Put yourself in her shoes, what would you have said?

I think you mean heinous. There may have been questions whether they should contact HR at Central Office. I can see why I would wait for instruction because you don't want to get sued. Government (Federal and State are cracking down on releasing PII. There are now tons of legal discussions about handling PII.)

More protection of the perpetrators means more perpetrators.

WTF are you talking about?! No one is protecting him. He’s been arrested and charged.

And walking the streets. Does anyone know if he was allowed to keep his passport?

He posted bail. It’s how are legal system works. As far as I know, you have to surrender your passport to the courts if they deem you a flight risk.

I know you think this is clever but this contributes nothing and sounds like you enjoy joking about rape. Take a bow. You’re someone who jokes about rape.

Exactly.

.

I am horrified that this man is out on bail.

Well, he is not denying what happened but is insisting it was consensual. That said there have been so many cases of teacher/student relationships at Bell/CHEC (where he used to teach a while ago) but the long time principal who is considered above the law has done nothing and DCPS has always quenched these "rumors" and even terminated those who have dared be outspoken about it.

Can you speak more on that?

Stop. While this is horrible, this is not about a student. This was two adults.
