Is it time to ban heading in women's soccer? (or in soccer all together?)

The research is clear on concussion headbands. They work. Accept it or pick a different sport for your DC.

Did she wear a concussion headband? Picture would suggest not (nor do I think they were an option back then. There is a solution for this concern.

And how do you know she is having a normal life? She is only 38 years old. We don't know whether she has CTE. The only way to confirm this is to examine her brain but it can not be done today.

The great Frank Gifford did have a normal life and passed away due to natural cause at the age of 84 and they examined his brain after his death and found CTE.

Athletes today are much stronger and faster than ever before due to advance in technology, training and nutrition and PED. It will result in much more violence collision. I don't think a soccer player in the 1950 can kick the ball at 80mph. Because of advance technology in shoes, training and nutrition and performance enhancing drug (PED), the soccer ball can travel @80mph. The last thing I want to do is having it hit my head.

Hahaha! I actually met her in Detroit last year. She's an amazing vibrant lady.

You need to take your little agenda somewhere else. You won't get traction here.

I'm satisfied that a concussion headband solves my concerns. You won't change soccer, but you will continue to make a fool of yourself here.

I've also met her in CA as well. She seemed nice but what does it have anything to do with the issue above. Dave Duerson was a very vibrant young man before he killed himself.

If anyone on this forum has a head injury, it must be you. You are like a dog with a bone and just can't give it up.

You've been given the answer over and over again. Concussion head band. You just refuse to hear it for some OCD reason. It works. I don't know why you are still debating this, but you sound like a broken record.

She also has a history of addiction-dui, alcohol/drugs. Related to concussions, who knows? But possible—impulse control.

I have a brother who is an alcoholic and a drug addict. You know what it came from? He is an addict. He never played a day of sports in his life.

Right, so all the addictions in this country are from former soccer players. Sure, whatever...again, there is a solution, and it’s called a concussion head band.

Of course.

That doesn't mean that repeated head trauma doesn't cause the symptoms above or CTE. In fact, the medical community thinks it does, and it's backed up by autopsy data from many deceased former athletes who suffered from repeated head trauma.

Hey, you don’t need to keep posting on concussions any more. I found a good audio of this lecture of yours: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k6p1Ck0ab80

Concussion head band.

There are some great googlers on this thread. Fun fact, but if you google long enough, you can find anything you want to support anything you want.

You can also google how to purchase some bubble wrap, or how to find a sport for your child other than soccer.
