Kid in Colorado floated away in a homemade ballon!

What the? How many hours was he hiding in the house? How did they search twice and not find him?

This is such a weird, crazy story. Okay, back to swine flu, health care, Afghanistan, etc.

I bet the kid let the balloon loose and was scared of getting in trouble so he went to hide in the attic. Someone really should have thought of that and done a thorough search of the house...

THe family sounds a little weird... OK a lot weird.... but if one sibling SAID he saw the child get into the balloon and float away, I guess I can understand focusing on the balloon, and where it was, and how to get it down... more than an intensive search in all the boxes in the garage.

Before I heard the boy was safe in the house I did wonder. I don't know about you but if I saw my sibling about to get in the basket of a helium balloon I would have been a hysterical mess - screaming not to do it, running over there something ... not like - oh I think I saw so and so getting in the basket. Bizarre story.

I'm sure the family will still get an all-expense-paid trip to NYC next week to appear on the Today Show though...
