A quality builder knows when (specific stages of construction) to micromanage the subs and stages to let them work as work can be inspected and/or corrected later. Foundation planning, sub soil prep, layout to include config, window/door openings, scheduling (avoid pour on bad weather days) and ensuring all is LEVEL is perhaps the most critical milestone. Good builders are onsite for this type of work - can’t leave this to subs no matter how trusted they may be. Too much fluctuation with the labor. If you get this piece wrong, there will be pain going all the way to the roof. |
| I greatly appreciate your comments and they could not have been said any better. The onsite project manager was no where to be found ( I think he was taking a few days off) when the foundation was poured. The framing crew that came in several days after the foundation was poured to install the floor joists and panelized wall quickly knew they had a problem with the foundation. We had a detached garage and the plans called for a 12 foot ceiling from the top of the slab to the ceiling. The subcontractors were left unsupervised and the garage ended up being 14 feet from the top of the slab to the ceiling. I observed one day as I was visiting the job site that the concrete folks were cutting openings in the wrong locations. Those cuts had to be patched three times. Luckily we were getting a stone veneer water table that would cover up the mess. The only supervisory review I have seen is the marking and correction of warped studs. There really was no reason to rush the framing and concrete work as it took 17 weeks to get the windows. There has been only minimal supervision of the subcontractor work. |
I’m sorry you are having this experience but if it makes you feel better, most builders of Evergreen size who primarily build one of their “model plans” generally put their sub contractors on auto pilot. They are also very good at covering up the errors. Take pics if you can. |
No issues that they have found yet. How hard did they look? Did they have an inspector monitoring the build? Did they check things themselves? Builders know many mistakes don’t emerge for 1-3 years and warranty is over. |

We are days away from completing our home purchase from Evergreene Homes. This has not been a pleasant process.
Here are some of my issues: Lack of Communication Failure to follow the approved plans Multiple redo's for construction errors Changes to the selected options by the builder with no communication of the substitutions Difficult to work with and not customer oriented Poor Quality exterior doors and windows and low end builder grade throughout the home After 16 months of this aggravation, I would never do this again. There was a certain excitement that we looked forward to a new home but that joy has been taken away by the Evergreene construction management. I'm certain other builder's may have similar issues but it is the poor management and communication issues for which I would not recommend Evergreene Homes, LLC in Chantilly, VA. Sadly, as nice as the home does look from the outside, the builder has ruined this experience and I think we will look to move to another home sooner rather than later. As I had seen in another review, I would stay as far away from Evergreene as possible. |
Just wait until a year from now when you try close out your 1-year warranty punchcard. They just never came back to finish ours…. They are terrible. |

We live in a home built in 2019 by Evergreene Homes, Northern Virginia. During the project planning, we and the builder agreed and signed off on floor plans presented to us by builder. Upon moving in, we found out that a few items (important to us) were different then represented to us. Evergreene Homes refused to remedy. In addition, other items such as some of the house gutters are overflowing, drainage tile is badly slugged by foundation dirt (just 1 year after installation!), about 60% of roof shingles are found defective (even after manufacture's shingles warranty we are faced with $15,000+ out of pocket expense), driveway was not sealed, letting the tar top continuously crumble, stairs to 2nd floor squeak even after attempted remedy. All this goes to show that Evergreene Homes doesn't have handle on their trade Quality control!
So regretfully, we issue this warning: Evergreene Homes potential buyers be aware of this builder! |
| Evergreens builds lower quality but affordable homes. This product strategy appeals to many. Not everyone can or is willing to pay $500 per sq ft - and there is a market this product also. No different than any other product - Chevy will cost significantly less than BMW, etc. There is something for everyone. |
I’m in McLean and we could not find a new build for under $2 mil |

We have lived in our Evergreene Home for almost two years. We like the style and floor plan, but the quality I was expecting from Evergreene is just not there. We have had roof and window leaks, pocket doors that would not open, faulty electrical wiring, sidewalk and porch stone that was loose and not installed properly, exterior stone veneer falling off, attic access panels blown out by the wind, drainage issues in the yard and driveway not corrected and finally very poor quality painting. Evergreene touts their excellent craftsmanship and quality in their advertising but we have not found this to be accurate. We have had to fight to get standards clearly included in the contract installed. They also promote their 60 day and one years inspections. You can identify items to be repaired but the warranty department does not have the quality personnel to manage and make a proper repair. It took over a year to have items on our walkthrough addressed only to have a substandard repair which I had to pay another contractor to fix. This has been a major letdown as I have had to spend thousands of dollars to make repairs which should have been done by the builder. During the building process, there was little to no oversight of the subcontractors by the Project Manager. I watched the construction of other homes in our community over a two year period with numerous quality issues. I think if you were to talk with our neighbors there would be very few that would ever buy another home from Evergreene. It has been very stressful working with Evergreene and the Warranty Manager. After spending thousands of dollars after the purchase to fix poor construction, I finally have the home that should have been delivered at closing.

| Worst experience ever |
| Pay the extra and go with Sekas..6 years in an no problems. |
What happened? |
| Their pricing is crazy these days, though they're not the only builder trying to fetch insane prices. $2 million for South Arlington .... LOL. At least if you're going to try to get prices like that, you should have a quality product. |
