This sounds like mine - it’s princess cut. Of course I love it but I also really love the look of simple emerald cut or pear cut solitaire rings. My wedding bands are eternity and I have 2 - one is soldered to my engagement ring and the other is by itself. I generally only wear the single band. |
Wow I can’t imagine spending two months rent on something so frivolous! |
Ohhhh I love OMC diamonds! |
| 1.61 carat solitaire on 1.5 mm thin band. Wedding band is 2.8 carat shared prong bezel set eternity band. |
The jealous dragon inside me that never sleeps is hanging on every word. For those of us who had sucky sensible engagements and rings this is pure porn pleasure. Keep 'em comini! |
| All I know by reading this thread is how much people over paid...he paid half the prices quoted by the local jewelers on BlueNile |
I lived here for grad school at that time and no way you could rent for $700!! So I'm assuming you mean somewhere else... |
| 3 stone platinum ring - 1.5 ct center, .25 side stones, and the band is set in probably another .25 melee stones. Matching 1 ct platinum band with melee stones. |
Then it must really blow your mind that many spend 2 + months salary. Rings aside, have you never spent 2 months rent in a vacation or anything else that isn't a necessity/investment? |

Mine is a 1.35 ct diamond in a delicate halo and shallow u-cut pave band (I think .43ctw) with a matching eternity wedding band of also .43ctw. They were made by a jeweler in LA named Victor Canera.
I know others have said they rarely wear their engagement ring, but I wear both of mine daily (married for 14 years). |
| 1.1 ct. princess cut. GG/VS1. it was initially on a plain gold high mount setting with platinum prongs. I got it reset at 15 anniversary on a white gold with yellow gold "rope" accents and two small side diamonds (nothing special I, 1/4 ct each). It matches my band which is three 1/3 ct GF/VS2 three-band wedding ring that is white and yellow gold similar accents. |
| .75 ct radiant cut in a simple modern platinum setting.. I love my ring. It's all I wear - I don't have a wedding band. |
| 1.32 carats, marquise cut. $10,600. |
| .25 carat in a Tiffany bezel setting in yellow gold. We thought the price was outrageous at the time but I wanted a very low setting since I'm left handed. 14 years later I still love it and wear it every time I leave the house. |
| I never take mine off. Why do married people stop wearing their rings? |
