Carrie Underwood’s accident

She slipped at the top and fell slicing the side of her face against the rustic railing and she fell on top of her hand smashing it into the stone and breaking it.

I knew of a man who got a brain injury slipping on his front door step and smashing his skull against the concrete.

I don't think anyone's denying that these kind of freak injuries happen.

It IS very odd that she basically said she'd look different and then a pic of her surfaces from a few weeks ago (well after the accident, but before the 'different' post) where she looks normal.

I'm sure that the scar on the other side of her face is going to be visible when she is next in front of the camera. She is obviously doing well but there is going to be a difference even if it is fairly minimal.

I'm sure that this has not been an easy thing for her to deal with.

She could have sliced open the left side of her face. Also the “fan” who turns out to be a D list celeb may have overdone Carrie asking her to not disclose a facial injury. Instead the “celeb” “fan” yelps: “she looks great ! I didn’t even know she was hurt! Watch my show on Bravo!!!!!!”

I feel like this is going to be the new Beyonce deflating belly thing.

I thought maybe it was something the scarf was covering, but I just don't see where/how.

My sister had her thyroid removed and didn't leave the house without a scarf for months afterwards. Even now, nearly 2 years later, she wears a shorter chain necklace to cover the faint neck scar.

And her dealing with things? Fisher retires from the only thing he’s known/done for 30 years. She goes from album to tour to pressure to put out new music. She changed record labels. And no secret they want another kid.

40 to 50 stitches is going to leave a significant scar. That isn't just a small, NBD sort of thing. I don't think that she's being over dramatic when she calls this accident "life changing".

She'll be o.k. but that has been a pretty horrific ordeal for both her and her family - you can bet that.

What about it doesnt look like plastic surgery? Her one eye looks a little wonky but who knows.

What? Absolutely nothing here suggests plastic surgery on her face. If anything, it’s disproven.

Nothing has been disproven. That photo is from 12/12/2017. Her statement about the stitches on her face was made this weekend. If the face incident occurred separate from the fall then the photo proves zip.

She injured her face and her hand at the same time.

I think that the facial stitches happened separately from the fall and she is trying to use the fall to cover up the real reason for the stitches. Plastic surgery gone wrong? Abuse? I don't know. But something is weird here.

+1. But she is gorgeous and I can't figure out why she would undergo plastic surgery.

Stop playing games. Pp was trying to say that the pic leaves completely open the question of plastic surgery. Unless she had surgery on her left ear, the pic shows no plastic surgery.

^^ unless she had a filler mishap (common) which doesn’t leave scars but can affect movement in face and appearance. After baby weight loss some face hallowing happens those in the public eye often resort to non—surgical tweaks—Botox, fillers, etc.

Remember Courtney Cox’s face after Botox and filler mishap?

She hosted the CMA awards 2 days before this accident happened. She looked amazing. Why on earth would she do something drastic to her face? And right before she had another engagement and the holidays coming up?

Take off your man hating glasses. The vagueness and gradual revelation are far more likely to be related to privacy. A celebrity choosing to not share every detail of a difficult situation and injury with the world doesn't mean her husband is beating her and breaking her bones and slashing her face.

Agree - this seems like it is about vanity, not abuse.

If you enlarge the photo posted earlier in the thread you can see a red cut just to the right of her nose, and almost hidden. It looks like she’s angling her face carefully for the camera; no telling what further injury might be out of view, closer to her ear.
