Carrie Underwood’s accident

Google Carrie Underwood's Nashville home. Oprah did a segment on it and the home has some pretty serious sets of stairs. The steps leading up to the front door have a storybook cottage feel to them but they also look mossy, slick, downright treacherous.

Her husband was out of town at the time of her fall. Part of the story was him rushing to her side before surgery. One thing confuses me is I’m sure I saw a fan pic on Twitter boasting “first pic since accident!” and it looked like her arm was in a cast but her face looked perfect. I’m sure they’re grateful Fisher is not on the road anymore so they can have this time together. Expecting news of a baby #2 in 2018.

I saw that picture, too. She has her face turned and you can only see the right side of her face in that picture so she might have scarring on the left side. But the fan in the picture said that they weren't even aware that she had injured her face. Sounds like a promising recovery - thank goodness!

Her appearance is her livelihood. She may have wanted to get opinions and formulate a plan. It reminds of that wide receiver that lost multiple fingers in a fireworks accident. They held off on disclosing the extent of his injuries for a while.

Take off your man hating glasses. The vagueness and gradual revelation are far more likely to be related to privacy. A celebrity choosing to not share every detail of a difficult situation and injury with the world doesn't mean her husband is beating her and breaking her bones and slashing her face.

You know no more than anyone else, so have a seat, OK?

Abuse? Look at their pictures. She's happy and relaxed with her husband.

Everything wasn't revealed immediately. That doesn't mean something awful is going on.

Is that the “truth sense” emblem?

+1 It makes total sense that she would want some time with her husband and doctors to figure out what her recovery was going to look like. It's a shame that some people are insinuating bad things about her husband during what is already difficult time for her.

Except that it’s known that her husband was out of town at the time of the fall. (Contemporaneous social media pics and media reports). And they’ve been maiiried a decade and CU has had tons of exposure, pics, appearances, tours etc etc and there’s be no other injury. So shut up. No, really. Just stop talking about abuse in this case.

I know someone who slipped on ice, hit a metal hand rail, fell down two steps and ended up with a broken leg, cuts, bruises, and looking like she was in a major accident!

I know someone else who tripped while taking her pants off and ended up with a broken arm and a deep gash in her knee.

Neither had been drinking - both just fell in bad ways and hit things on the way down.

I have a friend who did this as well. She hadn't been drinking either. She got tangled, tripped, and ended up breaking her wrist (required surgery & pins) and breaking her eye socket/cheekbone.

My cousin tripped going up the 10 concrete stairs into her home while she was carrying her kid. Her main concern was not dropping the kid or letting him get hurt. The way she landed caused a broken ankle, 4 broken ribs, and a deep head gash where she smacked the back of her head on the edge of the step. Her kid was perfectly fine though and actually laughed because he thought it was fun, "again, again" he yelled afterwards.

The cynic in me thinks (possibly botched) plastic surgery.

The klutz in me thinks that this freak accident will probably happen to me.

The was a golfer last year at a rental house for a major tournament. Missed a step, fell down a staircase. Then missed the tourney. Stuff happens.
