Silicon valley money has screwed the democrats. They have abandoned commons sense to increase illegal immigrants

Wrong party. Lots of Republicans love illegal immigration and temporary worker visas. That’s why we won’t see immigration reform. Too many rich white guys making bank off the current system.

Used to be that way but not since Clinton and pelosi. Democrats are against e-verify. The single most effectIve tool to improve the lives of low wage workers

If it was really important to the republicans they could and can get it through this congress and this White House. What’s the problem?

Then there is the Kushner Crime Family that fraudulently sells EB-5 visas to Chinese investors for the low, low price of $500,000 a piece. How about the GOP stop those shenanignas?

* In 2015, the federal government spent 63% of its finances on social programs, including income security, healthcare, education, housing, and recreation. This amounts to $2.5 trillion or an average of $20,210 for every household in the U.S.[116]

† Social programs include income security, healthcare, education, housing, and recreation.
‡ National defense includes military spending and veterans' benefits.
§ General government and debt service includes the executive & legislative branches, tax collection, financial management, and interest payments.
# Economic affairs includes transportation, general economic & labor affairs, agriculture, natural resources, energy, and space. (This excludes spending for infrastructure projects such as new highways, which is not accounted for in this graph.[36])
£ Public order and safety includes police, fire, law courts, prisons, and immigration enforcement.

Doesn't this include Social Security and Medicare? Ya know, the same SS and Medicare that literally all of us look forward to collecting when we get older?

Newsflash: the republicans want to slash *that* part of the social safety net as well. We have to stop them. All of us...even the yuppies...will need SS and Medicare when we get older. All of us.

Don't let the republicans screw you, your parents, and your kids out of the programs that work. We paid into them, and we should get to collect.

The liberala are always going on about bigger fear centers in Republicans' brains, but then they revert to fear-mongering in order to garner votes.

SS and Medicare HAVE to have a slight adjustment in order to keep them solvent. Why is that such a confusing concept to liberals? Would it be so terrible to you rich DCUMers earning $250k if you have to pay SS taxes up to $200k? That way, you'd be ensuring that people will get SS in their old age, and many depend on it for the bulk of their income. (After all, you all always claim to care about other people.)

Same thing with Medicare. Maybe we have to increase deductibles (like Obamacare did) to $6000 before anything is covered. That will ease up the pressures in the program. Or maybe increase premiums by $200 a month to retirees with incomes over $100,000. Maybe we need to do both.

Point is....you can't keep increasing spending year-over-year when you are running a deficit that threatens insolvency in 20 years.

Liberals are fine with having the wealthy pay their fair share. It's the republicans who can't quite grasp that concept.

And FTR, my comment was meant for the racist fear monger who thinks the big numbers reflected in the chart represent illegals sucking federal program dollars. It's just not true. The biggest chunk of the pie is SS and Medicare...which goes to elderly citizens who paid into the system.

Not to mention that many illegals pay into Social Security and will never see a dime of it. They are actually supporting Social Security.

Over populated my child's elementary school and half her class is taught in Spanish. Learn to f g speak English for starters and it is not the United States job to feed these children. You come here at least be able to provide for your children.

By all means, move to West Virginia or Alabama if you want your kids to only be around white kids in school. I have some bad news for you about the number of white kids receiving public assistance in those areas, though...

You've included the wrong example with Alabama. Maybe you should have included CT, NH, and VT instead.

This doesn't bother me all that much. Thi isn't where money is being wasted.

I don't have a problem with people citizens and non citizens using social programs to better their lives and the lives of their children.

You think so? Raise the SS cap to $200k, and watch the liberals on this forum scream holy murder. To liberals, "wealthy" is always someone who earns more than they do.

As far as the "racist fear monger" who thinks the big dollars in the chart represent illegals sucking program dollars, IF that was his point, I agree it's not the illegals. It's that we have far too big a proportion of Americans on the government dole, in one form or another, and not enough putting into the system. This country cannot survive if only half the people are paying federal income taxes. Everyone, other than the really poor or disabled, has to have some skin in the game. Even a token amount.

I am Indian American.. and this is so wrong. This was my observation also when I walked into Freddie Mac, it was overwhelmingly Indian and I don't know how the American bosses let it happen. As having seen some of the corruption back home I will not be surprised if there is some quid pro quo and pay per play scheme going on here.

Nope, still is this way. Even Fox News reports on it. I think you just like to pay attention to only what you want to hear and ignore the actual facts that doesn't fit with your paradigm.
