So not jealous at all about Markle marrying a prince, and have never followed news of British royals etc.—all the posts about her “game” and “snagging” a prince here surprise me. I do think they look like a nice couple, and have been following this story a bit given the “controversy” she’s half black and American.

Is marrying a prince really a fantasy many of y’all have grown up with? Or just the people posting here?

Just wanted to mention that the only people who think Megan Markle and Kate Middleton had a "game" or plan to "snag" a royal, are the extremely bitter and jealous haters here in good ol' DCUM-land. Normal, well-balanced people simply see couples who love each other and were lucky enough to marry the right person. I'm always amazed and perplexed at the posters who have such contempt for happy couples, regardless of whether they're royals, celebrities, or average people. It's so telling - the haters are deeply unhappy people who are consumed with envy.

But back to your question - I'm in my 40's and never really had a fantasy of marrying a royal. I just think it's fun to follow their lives from a distance. But I certainly don't take it all so seriously, as some of these wackos do.

You've been reading too many tabloids. Meghan didn't grow up in poverty. She grew up middle class in a solidly middle class neighborhood (Windsor Hills), and she attended private school her entire life. Her mother is also a USC graduate.

Seriously. What is this nonsense about "white trash" that some other PP was spewing? You are absolutely right. Not to mention, she graduated from Northwestern - a school which the haters couldn't even dream of being accepted to.

There are some deeply unhinged and unhappy women on this thread. I think Harry and Meghan look lovely and she seems a bit nervous (who wouldn't be?) but is not hiding her spark at Sandringham. They suit just as William and Kate suit. I wish them a happy life together.

BTW, MM was never Catholic even though she went to Catholic schools and didn't convert to Judaism when she married the first time. Not that it matters since Harry and the Queen - as the head of the Church of England - don't appear to give a rat's a$$ unlike the harpies here.

She is crazy to marry him. She has to live over there and deal with snooty uptight royals who will try to control her every move including how she raises her children. Will she be able to teach them about their non royal heritage or will everything be white washed? She will be far from her mother with limited freedom due to press and security issues. I'm generally ambivalent about the royals (I think the Kate hate posts are kind of ridiculous), but I think Meghan putting out her tongue when photographed with the her future in-laws was gross and tacky. Really gross and really tacky.

She's not "bailing." You don't seem to understand that royal money buys many things. Her mother can visit whenever she wants, and Prince Harry can find a grace and favour cottage for her anyplace in London or the Commonwealth. She can certainly teach the children about her heritage. If anyone of you cared to watch the Queen's Christmas Day address, the choir who introduced and end the speech was composed of children from many heritages, including several singing "God Save the Queen" in hijabs. You may be less evolved than the British monarchy to think that Meghan will have anything other than a very nice life.
