old friend dropped bombshell - would love your insights

Everyone makes mistakes. It sounds like maybe you or your DH made one, but come on - she chose to jettison the friendship instead of just forgiving you or discussing it with you. You didn't cause that. It is what it is. Just forgive her and move on with the friendship you have now, which is not as close but might bloom again or fade naturally and on good terms.

+1 Sounds like she was out to make herself feel better, not clear the air with you. I don't normally walk away from friendships but this gal doesn't sound like a friend.
