Easy. My husband also doesn’t like dogs. We have two kids thanks for your concern. My children are welcome to have dogs when they move out. But not in this house.

I agree. I was at a coffee shop in Del Ray last week and some idiot was plopped down right in front of the door with her pit bull. I could hear her on her phone talking to someone about how he was not nearly as nervous as he was the last time she tried this and was actually sitting next to her. Wtf? She had him right in front of the door on the side where it opened, so there was no way to avoid him as you walked out. This was even though there were plenty of other tables on the sidewalk closer to the corner and away from the door. I coukdn't help but wonder what would happen if some kid accidentally stepped on his paw while coming out the door. Dog owners seem to be such selfish fools. |
| My dog passed his good citizen test and sits when another person gets close so no, he does not just randomly sniff or lick strangers. I wish kids on the metro and in restaurants were as well behaved as my dog. A many plopped his two year old next to me on the metro this morning and then played on phone paying no attention to the kid pulling on my sleeve, trying to wipe his nose on me, and opening my purse. |
NP here. I have a 1 year old and just moved out to the burbs and I think it is a problem. People leave their dogs off leash in the park (even though it's not allowed) and sometimes they run over to the playground and lick my child and knock her over (she's a wobbly walker). I even ran into a lady who brought her dog into Target. It wasn't a service dog, and again, it ran over to my toddler and licked her. It's not cool. |
I hate dogs and have bad allergies. Not a chance we are getting one. My kids and husband would love one. Then again, my son has a huge list of animals he'd like. I hate when people think their dogs are cute and do everything to use them to get attention. We went camping last year. A dog was off the leash and changed my child a few blocks. He was scared out of his mind with good cause. It was good my husband was there and not me. I would have kicked the dog or found a big stick to shove him away. My child comes first. |
| Newsflash. My dog does not like children and does not like to be pet by children. I control my dog, please stop your children from coming over to pet her without asking. |
| I love dogs - just love them. But I agree with the OP. |
I'm not a dog person and had no idea that all that licking was kissing. I live in a condo and am one of the few residents who don't have a dog. I just figured they couldn't control the jumping up on people but the licking got really bad this summer. Time to put away the flip flops and sandals! I would never push away someone's beloved pet but it sure will be nice to have dry feet! |
I'm not a dog person but this is really mean. |
This pup is absolutely adorable. |
No, it's not. A dog owner not giving a crap about others is mean. A dog owner disliking their dog so much that it's a chore to have them in control at all times, is mean. You love your dog? Then why don't you act like it and keep it by your side? Don't expect others to care for your animal, if you're too lazy to do so. |
| Every fucking week we rehash this issue. |
That's because dog owners continue to get more lazy and more irresponsible, on the whole as a group. |
If you say so. |
Because somebody encounters a dog, doesn't have the guts to simply say "I'm allergic" or whatever, cannot speak up for herself, then runs her pansy a$$ to dcum to cry about it as if that will do any good. How do you survive in this city? |
