Is the UVA Campus cursed?

And it is Grounds - not Campus

And just because there are some UVa alumni involved - it is not a UVa moment. Still shocked that they walked down the Lawn. Those images deeply upset me.

Your kid won't go to UVa because pp made a joke about grounds vs. campus by an alum? If that's the intellectual gene pool your kids are coming from, I suspect they won't need to worry about making a decision on whether to attend UVa.

I don't understand why any non-white person or jewish person or muslim person would send their kid there after this. The Univeristy did not do enough nor did they use the phrase KKK or white supremecists. They are better schools and safer schools for non-hetero cis white chiristian people.

My Filipino cousin and African American BF went there in the 90s. They never mentioned any bad experiences to me. I am biracial and hosted a African dance event there last year and had enthusiastic participation from every color, including many white students. I imagine the Alt Righters stick to themselves in universities across the country.

I'm biracial. I wanted to go to UVa. I don't anymore but many black people I know who graudated from there, told me to look elesewhere. They all said they were not surprised by what is happening in Charlottsville and that if you pull into the parking lots on campys you will see conferderate flags from students on campus. I'll pass. Have at it. Alt Righters don't attend places where this type of thinking is really condemned. Racists do, closet racists, but not alt right neo-nazi, klansman. If you're minoroty and you go to UVa you deserve any racist treatment you get. They have a giant statute of Thomas Jefferson for Pete's sake!

I bet none of you even live here! I moved in Charlottesville 2 years ago from Potomac. I have never experienced discrimination since I came here. Try living here in Charlottesville and working for any UVa affiliated workplace. A bunch of white trash racists everywhere I go. Looks very friendly and tolerant on the surface because of all the refugees they took in.

The town of Charlottesville and UVA survives because of cheap labor...and who gets paid cheap labor? Damn right...all these racist white trash and immigrant refugees.
