Dating with extra weight after divorce

I have made an online connection, and will be meeting the guy next week. I have a very attractive face, style, and am self confident. But am wondering if men will be turned away by the extra lbs? Of course my profile pic does not show the extra weight. I am afraid of being rejected on first glance!
FWIW I haven't had sex in 5 years, and am eally hoping to find someone!
advice!

So what choices do you have? You can delay dating until you slim down or you'll just have to risk it and use the great qualities you possess. I would say do the latter. I think your confidence, smile and (I'm hoping) intelligence and sense of humor should not be undervalued. Take a long term view and grow a thick skin because you will have your share of rejection. Meanwhile ...

You absolutely must get to work on getting fit. Mainly for the sake of your health and well-being. Treat aesthetics as a pleasant side effect. I didn't say "losing weight" because that's almost always a goal that leads to failure or misery. If you don't know how, start researching fitness exclusively and ignore advice on "weight loss". Nutrition is critical, just follow the CrossFit founder's advice - Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar.

Doesnt have to be mean. Fish, or other forms of protein are good too.

I was about 20-25 lbs up after my divorce due to a bad injury. I could have put up old pictures on dating sites, but what's the point? If a guy is looking for a specific body type and your old self reflected that, he's going to be disappointed to find out you lied. Just be honest and you'll find a guy that likes you for who you are. If you don't like who you are, then work on that and then start dating.

I ended up finding a really great guy online! We got married last year.

Meat means the muscles or organs of any animal that's safe to consume. Fish counts and is some of the best protein you can get.

You blame your divorce for being overweight? Most divorced people lose weight very quickly right after the divorce.

People react differently to stress. You sound like a dick.

OP, I'm about 20 pounds over the weight that I'd like to be, and I have no problem dating.

My profile pic is me in a LBD that is flattering and classic, and I have a huge smile on my face because I was with friends. And I'm wearing really sexy heels, lol.

I get plenty of attention.

Would you be willing to send me that picture?
