I agree if the person actually cuts someone off. However, I did not cut anyone off. There was an opening to slip in and I had my blinker on. As soon as I put my blinker on, the guy tried to speed forward to prevent me from getting in, but I got in before he could do so. That is a lot different than cutting someone off. The other guy was driving aggressively....and obviously was a nutcase to boot. |
I never feel bad for--or apologize to--the idiots who speed up when they realize I'm merging. Either be fast enough to keep me out of your lane or suck it up, buttercup.
And, for real, it's a dick move to speed up only after you know someone is merging. |

Road rage by Metro Bus driver!
She left the bus to get out and scream at the driver in front of me. I had no idea what was going on just came upon it. We were at a red light waiting in a triple left turn lane (on to Constitution from 19th). I was totally boxed in by traffic. When the light changed we all started going and the bus decided to make a very tight turn taking out MY car and the car behind me while trying to hit the car she was fighting with in front of me. She again got out and then started pounding my my car and kicking it. Thankfully we were in rush hour traffic because a few men got out and restrained her while the police came. It was very scary and bizzare. I still google her to see if she pops up working anywhere. |
+1 I've had Metrobus drivers scream at me for legally crossing the street on a green light as well as for standing 3 feet from the curb when they tried to make an awkward, wide right turn ("too close" for them and it was my fault because I was wearing one earbud). SMDH. |
| I had a bicycle rider follow me for a mile and then wait beside my car to lecture me on bicycle rights because I honked my horn at him. But it wasn't me. Wrong person. And you were riding badly in the middle of a 45 mile/hr highway on purpose?? Not rage really more like idiot. Road idiocy? |
Probably still at metro earning 6 figures |
Tells you a lot about people here huh passive aggressive type |
I had a colleague who got hit by a bus (don't know if it was Metrobus or RideOn bus) when he was crossing the street. He died. |
Exactly. Let's not pretend the driver was fired. |

I witnessed road rage today that was 10000% deserved!
I was standing outside a Starbucks. A woman 'parked' her large SVU outside the Starbucks, but it was really in the road to exit the shopping center (very small, narrow street so no one really could get by). She seemed to be waiting on someone in the store. After about three/four minutes (and some honking by those behind her), her kids ran out of the store. I assumed she would leave. BUT at that point, another child in the car got out and RAN BACK IN THE STORE. The line behind her is building and an (uninvolved) man on the sidewalk begins to yell at her 'there are people behind you!!! But whatever, just fucking sit there'. She ignores him. Cars start pulling around her into the 'entry' lane (dangerous because cars are whipping around the corner to enter the shopping center). People were going CRAZY honking and screaming at her. What an asshole. TLDR: woman treated a regular road like a parking lane and sat her ass there for way too long. |
This sounds reasonable. It's unbearable for certain type-As to let their guard down, so to speak, and somebody gets to slip in. They are angry at themselves for not accelerating quick enough. |
What happened to the days when you just let another car in as a matter of common. Courtesy? Giving the finger is a form of road rage. |
Get her tag no. And call police. She is obstructing traffic. |
If you get road rage every day it is your fault. |
| Rage - not really. But I don't get the people who beep when you are turning right or merging right onto a busy road - I am looking - if there's a pedestrian, I am going to let the pedestrian walk - if there's traffic coming - it's my right not to cut them off. |
