| No, but my employer has prepared a special luncheon for all of the women because if we don't come in or call in sick, we put other's lives in jeopardy. |
| Give me a break. You take a day off every time your kid has a runny nose or a dance recital. |
I am. No laundry, making meals or driving to sports practices. And wearing red. |
Women do 75% of the work in the world. |
Some of us do not have spouses who "often" do the domestic grunt work. |
Just a guess, but some of us can't do that because our husbands work late or are incompetent? |
| for all of you calling this pointless, you do realize that in other parts of the world March 8 is international Women's Day? What I think shows more privilege than anything is the fact that you can enjoy the hard work and sacrifices of the women who paved the way for you without having to make any yourself. For many reasons, I'll have to work tomorrow, but I applaud those who plan to participate. Rock on! |
| Yes. |
Wow that is amazing. I do 90% of the housework (our children are living at home but too old to need childcare). I sure do need to protest. |
Yes, you show that gratitude by going to your job, or caring for your kids, or doing whatever you now have the CHOICE to do thanks to those women. You don't say "Thanks! I'll sit back with my feet up to celebrate other womens sacrifices". I mean, its literally backwards. |
That is nice. For 15 years my H worked Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. We deliver baked goods to the local hospital on those days to show our appreciation. People don't really appreciate how good they have it. No go save a life! We are lucky now that we can take off. It has not always been that way. My H was once denied sick leave he needed to care for our child with the reason, "you have a wife". |
That was your personal choice to marry an incompetent man. Stop blaming everyone else. |
| Ridiculous. I'm a democrat and I think this is ridiculous. No just no. |
If YOU drink enough wine you won't even notice that you made a bad choice in a life partner. So strap on those shoes and get to work. |
You think it is ridiculous that women can use earned leave. You think that women should be told what day they are allowed to use their earned leave? |
