Are you taking off for the Day without Women?

Anonymous
Heck no, if I don't work either I don't get paid or I have to get the client work done on other days. This is already a super busy week so taking a day off only hurts me.

Self employed so I gave myself the day off. I'm going to do art all day.

I agree, its ridiculous and I look down on those participating. Go do your damn job like everyone else.

This. People earn respect for the work they do -- be that at home or in the world of business -- by taking seriously the work they do. Not by abandoning it in protest and solidarity because, well, who even knows why. Because their chosen candidates didn't win this time?

Grow up, ladies.

Hey it's going to be 68 degrees next week, how many men are taking off to golf?

How many are taking off to watch March Madness.

People can take off for whatever is important to them.

Grow up, guys, women are allowed to take off just like you do.

That sounds glorious. I can hardly paint by numbers.

if you drink enough wine you won't even notice them... if it spills on your shirt you will be wearing red.

Why do you need a excuse? If you want a day off, just take it. If I want one I just tell my husband I'm going out when he gets home or on the weekend and he says have fun. Why is it such a big deal.

why do men need an excuse to not shave in November... can't they just not shave if they want to?

My husband better shave if he plans to touch me with his face.

Sure. I'm just ditching my kids at the park for 10 hours.

Movember is the dumbest thing ever. Like I'm going to pay you to not shave, and then have to see your stupid beard on FB.

It's a boy kid, right? Because 10 hours at the park sounds like work and girls should not work either.

It's rough on the thighs. We all sacrifice for our loved ones.

No, because if I don't show up to work on Wednesday, Thursday will be a Day without a Job.

And I am pretty privileged in terms of work- 8 hr day, nice boss, decent con workers, decent pay, good benefits. I really don't have anything to protest. I already know how incredibly lucky I am. My situation is half my own doing and the other half luck and privilege.

Similar. I feel that I'm treated the same as men in my Company. My boss shows his appreciation all the time. I work long hours, but I signed up for that (I'm an attorney). I love what I do, just got a nice bonus, and I feel lucky to have my job. I don't feel like I really have anything to protest.

I'm on unpaid FMLA right now for maternity leave but if I wasnt, I'd be working Wednesday. I'd be in some serious sh*t if I took the day off for this event and my company is already pretty anti-woman.

I don't feel I need to protest for me either.

But I will participate, because it's not about me.
