Resurrecting this thread to get us in the giving spirit! Coats not as cheap as last year but wanted to put them on everyone's radar. Right now it doesn't look like the coupons are working on these $15.99 coats, but some of you may have special Macy's coupons that may work. Last year, I got 12 coats for $11.74 to donate to my church and I know many DCUMer's purchased as well.

THANK YOU!

The Angel Tree child we picked requested a winter coat as one of her items. (Which always make me feel guilty if they truly don't have a coat until Christmas )

I’m the OP and so happy so many bought coats last year. Let’s do it again! They were great for donation or for your own children. DD loved the one I bought her as a backup and wore it instead of her original winter coat.

They are good for donations, but you wouldn't want your kid wearing them? (???!!!)

Who said that? I saw a lot of people saying they were good for donations and I personally said my own kids liked them and wear them.

+1. I resurrected the thread, I don't have children for which these coats fit. I have a 15 year old and a now 2 year old.

P.S to the OP, it was so wonderful for you to post this last year! I purchased 12 coats, and had them shipped to my job. Our CIO asked me about the packages (actually gave me the side eye for having such a large boxes sent to the office), after I explained what I was doing, he ordered about 15 more for donations as well.

I joined the MACY's Thanks for Sharing Rewards. https://www.macys.com/social/thanks-for-sharing/?cm_mmc=VanityUrl-_-thanks-_-n-_-n

You join for $25 with your Macy Card. You get back 10% on all your spend in Macy till Dec 31st. Since, I will be purchasing several hundred worth of stuff from now to Christmas, I usually get quite a bit back each year, at least $50 - $100. And, Macys give the amount of $25 to charity.

So, I will join first and then make my purchases.

I bought one for my kid last year (saved me so much money DCUM! I was on a really tight budget). Today I bought one for my kid (a size too big, it'll fit next year), and 3 to donate to his school for kids who need coats.

These are REALLY nice jackets - the ones I got were $15.99 discounted from $75-85.

Why not? I bought one last year because I thought it would make a good transitional coat between winter and spring but it turned out to be really warm and my kid loved it. She even wore it to her expensive private school! Can you imagine?! The horror
