Yes. More specifically, Senate approval. |
It's kind of your civic duty to stand up and say something if your government is doing something you don't like instead of meekly bending over. Regardless of who won or might when. |
I mean the PP was just posting his opinion of an anonymous forum...PP is not under any illusion that would change anything. Nothing we say here will change anything. It does not mean PP will not work IRL to help in 2018 or take more substantial action in other ways. |

Also, GOPers, OPEC just agreed to cut oil production--> higher gas prices
Trump appointing Exxon CEO..How is that going to look in the court of public opinion? It's not just the right wing that makes shit up. The Left does too, and in general, conspiracy theories thrive in the opposition party. Soon enough, people will believe that Trump raised oil prices to help his friend Exxon CEO and Putin. |
Lawmakers alarmed Exxon chief could empower Putin McCain and Graham 'likely to mount aggressive opposition to Tillerson http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/rex-tillerson-state-lawmakers-232468 It's not just the Democrats... Trump is already succeeding at changing the way Washington works! Bringing bipartisanship back, Democrats and Republicans are working together again, against HIM. |
|
If you want to oppose this nomination call tweet these GOP Senators and show your support:
- Florida’s Marco Rubio, who has called Putin “a gangster and a thug”; -Wyoming’s John Barrasso, who has complained of Putin’s “belligerence” - Johnny Isakson of Georgia, who said in October that the U.S. “should really have physically gone in” to Ukraine to defend it from Russian aggression. From Politico article above |
if mccain and graham are mad wrt fp, it means it is the right course of action. |
rubio, mccgain, and graham could spike it if dems stick together. however, there are dems like manchin that would cross over. you would think cotton would spike it too since he's a belligerent person but he's also open to trump more than the others. R's need a solid block of 5 to hold out IMO to accomodate potential d flips (there will be those like manchin, heidi, and tester that will be willing). |
|
I am just going to go tweet those Democrats that when oil prices go up, having voted for Exxon CEO will look terrible, no matter if it has anything to do with it.
You can always count on people being stupid. |
zaftig from nd is a beneficiary when oil prices go up. it means more work for her constituents. so is turncoat devil spawn father as it makes coal more competitive. and tester benefits as well as eastern montana has lots of oil plays as well. . none of these three have any shot at national politics so doing right by their constituents is the proper course of action - which is higher gas prices. |
| i don't mind this pick - i do mind that bolton is being floated for his deputy and that he'll have the real operational power at state. CEO's do best 'delegating' so rex will be the figure head and bolton will get carte blanche to run riot over there. |
Ok, well then. If anything can bring GOP down in 2018 is high gas prices and adds targeting Trump for all his friends in oil. Also good for environment because people drive less. |
This. Kanye west probably has more sense in fp than those two fools combined. |
| Trump supporter here but literally I know nothing about this guy! Totally thought it was going to by Giuliani or Romney. Why did Trump choose him? I mean I know Exxon is a multinational company so he must have worked in a lot of countries but what other experience does he bring to the table? |
| Well, it isn’t a “given” until the Trump campaign formally announces it. |
