Quite apart from the fact that there are Democratic senators up for reelection in 2018 who are vulnerable and will support this and other nominations.

Not enough to change the basic fact that this guy is in bed with Russia, and we are in frequent conflict with Russia.

He will be cast out on those grounds.

Who is going to vote against him other than some Democrats?

The presidency, control of the senate, control of the House, 33 Republican governors and the same number of state legislatures.

Call it what you want ........

I call it "Your Responsibility." You've given birth to this abomination, so let's see what you do with it. Everything is your responsibility now. Everything that goes wrong is your fault.

Yes you own the swamp now and you can't blame the other person when you fail bigly. For a man starting with a 2% deficit and 3 million votes, it won't take long to lose the less than 1% avg margin in 4 states if he can't fulfill his promises.

Well if he was ever accused of it, DCUM can jump right to the conclusion that he did it, and do their part to perpetuate fake news.

You mean like Bill Clinton was accused and you jumped right on that too?

Ouch.

Good, interesting choice from what I have seen so far. Much more overall international experience that Hillary Clinton or John Kerry, with management and negotiation skills to boot. (And please, save the typing about Senate Foreign Relations.) Should be a nice little shake-up down at Foggy Bottom.

Looking forward to the confirmation hearings.

One word: Kansas. GOP economic theories are a disaster.

And facts: nowhere close to a landslide. In fact, in the lowest quartile.

He has actually run a major organization unlike Hillary and Kerry who have been life long politicians who had not run a fricking thing until they were appointed SoS.

Also endorsed by Bob Gates and Jim Baker.

These are all serious foreign policy professionals.

Dick Cheney endorsed him, too - why'd you leave him off the list?

You are comparing a whole state to a city? Do you know WHY Detroit went bankrupt? It's government was TOO large and pensions were too fat. A problem that a lot of cities are facing. While in Kansas, people cannot even get basic services because they failed to realize that they needed more government than they thought.

Also, I do not know if you have been to Detroit lately, but there is a huge amount of development AND gentrification. The bankruptcy was a reset button. So right now, I would take Detroit and it would not even be close.
